Cowboys may cut ties with new RB before he ever plays a snap in favor of rookie Jaydon Blue

I like the pick, but you think more than 50% of RBs drafted in the 5th round become NFL starters?
Rico (Who was an undrafted FA) could and should have been the starter from day 1. If the Cowboys go into the season with Williams and Sanders as the 1-2 start and they are struggling and then decide to play the rookie RB's half way into the season it could be a failure like last season.

What are you talking about? Who is even talking about Rico and who cares about one guy? What kind of point do you think that makes? Ryan Leaf was the number two pick in the draft and crashed and burned. You want to talk about what every single undrafted RB does in the NFL has done, then talk about Rico. Romo was undrafted too. That doesn’t mean I think some undrafted QB we bring into camp is going to be a starter. Every player we draft is a superstar each year.

You play your best players. That may be the 5th or 7th round rookie or it may be the veterans you signed.

Exceptions don't make points.

Almost 0%. Last time I checked, I think it was 26 of NFL starting RBs came from rounds 1-3.
I don’t know if that is true or not but that is the point I’m making. I really like the pick and have high hopes for Blue but people need to tap the brakes. He wasn’t even the top guy on his college team. Let’s not write him off of course but let’s not put him in ink as a starter or even a guy getting 15 touches a game and specifically year one until we at least get to the preseason games

Not starting doesn't and being chosen in a later round doesn't always equal less talent to what's on the current roster. Rico proved that last year.
Some better talent sometimes can slip through the cracks and not get that chance due to bad coaching

Yeah, read it the other day and chaulked it up as offseason gibberish.
It’s one of those articles that has about as much creedence as discussing “what if C A T really spelled dog”!
Half of Williams value for this season is his pass protection. Until they’re comfortable with the 2 rookies (probably next year) in that capacity I don’t see Williams going anywhere barring injury!

Well, if Javonte Williams gets cut, hopefully Jerry gives Williams' #33 jersey to Jaydon Blue! That would definitely be more fitting since Blue's running style definitely resembles that of Tony Dorsett. It would also be a big/huge marketing move for Jerry.

Sell that historic #33 jersey for years to come, Jerry! $$$$$$$$$$

:hammer: :clap::yourock::flagwave:
Shouldn't he play a down before Tony comparisons?

Javonte is faster than Deuce. He's also an accomplished pass blocker. 2nd year removed from horrific knee injury, so if he's going to regain his burst, should be this year.

There's not that much difference in their ages.
Javonte Williams is definitely not faster than Deuce Vaughn.

Javonte Williams: 4.55 40 time
Deuce Vaughn: 4.46 40 time
