Video: Schottenheimer Press Conference

I'm still not convinced he knows what he's talking about. Even if he does, the players have to buy in and execute his vision. We'll see what we see.

Schotty is well spoken and sounds like a nice guy, maybe too nice. He says all the right things but doesn’t sound like someone real demanding. He doesn’t sound like the type of coach that’s going to build a tough, physical team. Listening to him doesn’t fire me up.
The way he is in a PC is not the way he probably he coaches.
Wait until TC is here, as we see videos of how this new staff is.

He’s calling plays. Doesn’t mean they are his.
Are all coaches actually their own plays?
NO.
They are derived from basic football that has been around years decades.

He will have his wrinkles. What we need to see, is how innovative he is in real games. Call the right plays at the right time. Will they work all the time, no they will not. But fans need to understand that as well. The defense has a catch on the other side as well.
The players must execute the plays also.

I’m sure that’s the case but he certainly isn’t the most inspiring coach to listen to. We’ll how his demeanor is this summer and on the sidelines during games.

He has said from day 1 that he is calling plays.
Calling plays does NOT necessarily mean it’s his offense. He was the OC last year, but that offense was McCarthy’s all day long no matter what others on here try to say. I have a feeling this new offense will be a blend of many different things the team ran well combined with elements that Adams wants to incorporate from his time as and OL coach. I think there will be some looks similar to what McVay runs in LA (specifically the tight splits Schotty has referenced numerous times).

Shout out to Hunter. Not so much for Deuce…
Watch. We're all counting Deuce out, but come game 1 he's our bell cow, sprinkling carries to Blue and Williams a few times a game each.

Just kidding.

He will get an opportunity with one of his former coaches coaching the line. I mean, that's a signal that he may be in their plans.

Williams, Blue, Vaughn, Mafah or Luepke.

Ahhh, Rambo is cool. He presents the other side from you. We must strive for balance on here
He gets a bad rap around here for not hating the team enough. He's been around a while. There's some nuggets in there if you look for them.

We got Parsons and Dak some help, which should improve both sides of the ball.

When you look at the bigger picture, especially on paper, we are putting some really nice pieces together with solid depth, which is what this team needs.

There are a few deficiencies on the roster here and there. But there's good competition and opportunities to earn spots, which makes for good chemistry and comradary when depth guys step up for a starting role.

"I think it's just like anything else."

You look at his response and demeanor he was just blowing smoke up all our aces. Decent regular season coach, but pretty putrid in the post season aside from 2010.
You’re right, but I can’t hate on the guy. He was the most successful coach here since Jimmy. I can’t give Switzer credit sadly.

This team has been mediocre for the past 30 years, which coincides with the acquisition of the Cowboys by Jerry Jones. Good players have come and gone, good coaches have come and gone; drafting has been good; the ONE and ONLY constant in this is Jerry Jones, who creates an atmosphere that is not conducive to winning a championship team. The Cowboys played their best ball under Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells, two coaches who preached discipline and accountability; so what did Jerry do? He forced out Johnson, so he take all the credit for winning multiple championships; and then years later forced T Owns on Parcells, who didn’t come back the next season. Since then, a plethora of coaches have come and gone…one could revive Vince Lombardi and he would not be able to win with the culture Jerry has established in Dallas
