It may mean nothing but this kind of tone from Jerry doesn't help.

Jerry Jones: Micah Parsons is under contract for this season

Published May 22, 2025 03:20 AM

The Cowboys owner said Wednesday it’s been awhile since he’s talked to Parsons.

“I haven’t talked with him in about four or five weeks, and of course, that’ll be necessary if he’s going to get a [new] contract,” Jones told Jori Epstein of Yahoo. “But he’s got a contract. That’s the point. Be sure and clear about that.”

Jerry Jones could have easily said the same thing before Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb signed contracts. There is debate Micah Parsons will not get a new contract with Dallas, but the likelihood is high that he will.

The timing of a signing would differentiate Parsons' contract situation from those two particular teammates. The two parties should stop stringing out the negotiation and arrive at a mutual agreement sooner than later IF Parsons 'got a contract' already.

Finalize business. Stop the weekly joint, soundbite/social media, back-and-forth ego-fest.

In other breaking news, water is still wet and the run continues to rise in the east.

The only real news is when it actually happens. Last I checked it's May not September so there is no reason to expect anything to happen anytime soon.

Why would anyone who has paid attention to the team for years be surprised by these comments? Attention is always the biggest goal with Jerry. Always.

Meanwhile the cost of Micah’s next contract goes up daily.

These tools always get this way with all the big contract guys. It’s so uncomfortable…..

Micah will be signed right before the season just like Dak and Lamb.
You ( well I do ) get the impression they probably already have a handshake agreement. Just think, we would see a different tone if they were very far apart.

I get that, Bob, but it's almost as if Jerry is saying WE DON'T HAVE TO DO THIS. Why play the silly timeline games when we all know everything is likely ALREADY decided?

This is just Jerral being the idiot he is. He's going to pay top dollar because he has no plan.
Learn how to become a critic...getting concepts sorted. You leave out all the negotiated and actual points delaying the process. That is why there is guessing instead of knowing right here.

Grab a hold of that 30 year calendar to clutch and blame with...

Maybe it takes a long time to practice his current signature...

Jerry is going to slow play writing that check as he typically likes to do. League revenue sharing money typically hits the teams accounts mid summer. I'm sure Jerry would much pay Micah from that pile of money rather than dip into team revenue or start selling off assets to come up with whats probably going to be a $150M or so check he has to write.
