How important is QB running ability for the running game/offense?

To the OP’s point, it is a bit of a shortcut. Running QB in the right offense can be incredibly effective, even enough to beat great passing teams

A QB that a career qb rating of 85 never reached over 100 in any season
and a passing completion percentage of less than 60%

but never had it all between the ears

You look at the greatest QBs and MOST of them were not great Athletes. Brady, Payton Manning, Marino. etc. But what they had was the mind of champions
