I agree he has had issues. But you still can’t get past the failure of the defense.
And I am a big fan of Milton. Prescott is one hit away from career over in my opinion.

he’s not the all-time great quarterback people think he is. He’s just had the opportunity to have a great franchise behind him. He’s looked pretty bad ugly. Against great defenses.

What a load of crap, and it's not even remotely close to being true. It was past time for Romo to retire, and now the same holds true for Dak.

Who is 'we'? Without calling anyone out, there are a few who are Dak fans far more than they are Dallas fans. Deny it all you want, you know it's true.

Yes, it takes a 'team', and nearly everyone on this site acknowledges that fact. It was very evident from 2007 to 2016, that shoring up the defense was an afterthought. But it makes it a bit more difficult to build around your average QB when he's eating too much of the pie. There isn't enough to go around.

Put Dak onto any of the KC teams over the past 10 years and they don't have 7 straight AFCCG appearances. Mahomes made those teams. Dak doesn't have the mobility or play making ability of him either.

Put Dak onto last seasons Philly squad and they don't win super bowl 59. Why? Philly's bread and butter play is the tush push, and Dak doesn't have the physical ability to make that play work. That play is built for a strong QB like Hurts. Dak isn't Hurts... If Dak was on that team their offense has to punt far more than they did last season.

The biggest issue when looking at Dak is using his stats. He compiles monster stats against bad teams which alone is impressive. But outside the division he is just not as good a QB. Sure the defense hasn't been good but look at a guy like Dan Marino. He couldn't win Jack because he didn't have a defense or running game but dam if he didn't get into a lot of shootouts with good teams. He doesnt show the ability to chip away at defenses that aren't bottom of the league.

You can’t win a Super Bowl consistently with any quarterback. Two exceptions in this league. Both with the great franchise backing them.

The difference is simply this, The Dolphin teams that Marino was on were not failing because of a lack of a QB. The Cowboy teams over the last 8 years have failed because of a defense and the lousy QB play.

Competition, for what? We have Dak for 3 more seasons. His dead cap is massive. Can't cut him this year or next year. The killer, right at the start of 2026, add another 45M to Dak's 2027 dead cap. We have to hope he can play for 3 more seasons.
