NFL has Dallas Cowboys among lowest projected win totals across NFC teams

Their may be pockets within the various bets where people make money but I would guarantee if you couple all five of those together that vegas comes out on top.

I think 7 to 8 wins feels about right with the combo of new coaches, new scheme, difficult schedule and a few more big question marks on players and positions. That being said there will be more than enough bets going both ways to cover and then they will make all the bets on the playoffs and above when those don't happen to come out on top.

Not trying to be Debbie downer on the Cowboys but realistically the betting is set up for Vegas to win and I'd sure bet on the house
Vegas makes money no matter what. They get the same money bet on either side and they win.

I'll simplify to make this easy:

You bet:

$10 to win $8

The other side bets:

$10 to win $8

So, no matter which side wins, Vegas makes $2 per bet.

Yes, I know it's more complicated than that, but truthfully not much. They don't pay out even money on both sides, that wouldn't make sense for them.

10 wins is the absolute ceiling but realistically I think this is a 8-9 win team

Just seems every year people have excuses to make about why the Cowboys aren't getting better from the previous year. Start with over hyping, end with an excuse why they were wrong.
I don’t see anyone making excuses. A figment of your imagination.

I'm glad about the negative publicity. It might help remove some of the "entitlement" some Cowboys players have enjoyed. The media hype has been one of their largest problems for many, many years. Maybe..... if these guys feel underappreciated and get mad, they'll play harder. Chiefs fans I work with don't understand the edge they had with being in one of the smallest TV markets, their guys didn't get constantly over-hyped until they actually won something.

Win Total: under 7.5 (+110)

Make Playoffs: +190

Win Division: +700

Win Conference: +2800

Win Super Bowl: +5500

Here’s the Cowboys’ toughest three-game stretch: In Week 12, they host the Eagles, welcome the Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day in Week 13 and then head to Detroit for a Thursday Night Football clash in Week 14. It’s important to remember that if Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons, who each missed time in 2024, are available all season, Dallas’ ceiling increases, especially if rookie right guard Tyler Booker is able to get acclimated. The first-round pick had the highest floor and was my highest-rated lineman at his position in this year’s draft.

Good. Let’s them underestimate the Cowboys.
That is a good thing. Maybe know they won't disappoint us.

Yeah, its not like anyone will make big claims at the beginning of the season and then end up saying that you need a running game and defense at the end of the season.
I can for see 3 things happening.

1. Our run D will not be improved.
2. Majority of our fans, will still think we need to draft a RB in round 1 next season.
3. The usual's will ignore 1 and 2 and blame Dak.

I really have no idea how this season will go, but I do find it funny that even the media is widely split on how the Cowboys will likely do this season with some suggesting they have a shot to have a great season and others saying they will be lucky to win very many games.

You sound like you are convinced that the media really "thinks" about the teams. That they are serious about the information they spread.

I doubt that. Thats not their business. They want to earn money and spread stuff that gets them readers/viewers. That stuff has nothing to do with reality or their actual opinion. And i doubt they spent much time with the real fundamentals about the game.

Of course there are some pseudo wanna be intellectuals like PFF. But in reality all their business plan is to create an intellectual vibe around them to better sell their content. A lot of "woow"-factor diagramms or algebraic formulars which when you look at it closer have no value at all. Just because they dont portrait reality. They make stuff look complicated on first sight so the audience (we) think(s) they have knowledge and we will have when we read their stuff. Neither is the case.

Good. Let’s them underestimate the Cowboys.

I doubt we will be a better team. I expect us to be worse then last year. Because we didnt do anything to get better.

Sure we signed a lot of players. But all of them are more or less trash that wont even make a backup role.

Our CB position is far worse then last year. We lost our best cb in lewis and did nothing to replace him. Diggs will not play until maybe november and i doubt our 3rd rounder will be able to contribute something meaningful. Not this season.

Our OL is basically in the same bad state as last year. We swapped an all pro Martin for a promising rookie. Our center is medicore and our tackles are both trash. We have a very good LG thats it.

We have no DTs and our DE position especially against the run is expected to be worse after our FO finally said its enough and had shown DFlaw the door.

WR may be upgraded but who will throw them the ball? TE is meh, RB is worse than last year. Safties are medicore.

Did i forget something? Oh yeah the great coaching and cultural change! Seriously are you kidding me? How many more years will the FO or the media be able to sell you people this shibboleth ? Dont you understand that this is a business and the primary plan is to sell a dream? This management Bingo BS is empty PR.

Seriously this team is in the middle of an rebuild. We signed a lot of rubbish to help in that process. To be able to dress a team without making sacrifices down the road.

I think the difference in views is basically because of Dak Prescott. If the Cowboys had a top 5 QB then a double digit winning season wouldn't even be in question. But everyone knows Dak's ceiling and limitations so it's a question of if the roster can carry him which is unknown given the number of changes made since last season.
