Mickey: Do Not Minimize Dak's Availability

Last season Dak was given an offensive line with two rookies starting. He was given the worse RB squad in the league. He was given a WR corps with no clearcut WR2.

Although the injury was non-contact, the fact that he was constantly running for his life probably led to an over-exertion on parts of his body.

The majority of these issues seem to be resolved and i look forward to Dak proving all his critics wrong.

Dak is not the reason the Cowboys keep losing in the playoffs, period. It has been that way for 30 years. Logically, the reason runs deeper than a single player.

You can point to any playoff game and Dak never played worse than Tom Brady in the 2020 season NFC championship game where he threw 3 consecutive INTs in the 2nd half.

The real issue is management and coaching. This will continue to be the issue until coaches are allowed to coach and the Jones's are not involved in football related decisions.
Watch the videos that A/C posted..... I understand those were probably small samples, but I only saw Dak 'running for his life' 2, maybe 3 times.

You said I make excuses for Dak. Explain how so...
I'm not doing this back and forth..... If you are going to deny all the times you blamed the defense, o'line, coaching, solar flares, window glare, bad receiver routes, etc. for Dak's failures, I won't try to convince you otherwise.

You know....
You deny....

Enjoy your day, amigo.

Correct.

If Dak suddenly loses his ability to scramble or run with the ball to the point it starts hurting the offense, we should all voice our concerns and demand Jerry start looking for his replacement. For the meantime, Dak still looks capable. I saw tape of their recent OTAs, and Dak looked very good on a few plays where he took off scrambling full sprint. Even the DC commentators were surprised considering Dak is coming off such a serious hamstring injury.
Its going to be interesting to see how Dak recovers from this. I heard this injury actually occured throwing the ball. If that's the case will his throwing motion be affected. The other thing is Dak going through a couple serious injuries we all know your never quite the same after one of those. Will he be more afraid of that blitzing LB in his face. I do think Dak has been watching the pass rush more.
Going to be interesting to see how he does.

You accused me. Now show some proof.

If not, apologize for intentionally slandering me with false accusations.

If this hamstring tear-from-the-bone happens again...

It's over for Dak.

Might as well call it a career and protect your body from further soft tissue long-term reinjuries.

While the Dak critics would be happy, this actually would hurt the Cowboys chances for this season. Definitely help secure another losing season. At that point, might as well tank and lose out in order to secure the #1 overall draft pick for 2026 and go after QB Arch Manning.

We all are.
Ain't that the truth.

I was watching war movies over the weekend...I think one was Flying Leathernecks...but anyway they were talking about somone's first mission...versus vets many mission. The "old" guy said '1st one...5 ...10...doesn't matter...all have the same chance of buying it'.

I thought of Dak. Any given play. But same for the other players too. And...people.

Dak critics would NOT be happy for Dak. They would be happy something is forcing Jerry's hand to do what needs done.

Difference might be too subtle for you...but it's really not.

You Romo apologists make me sick. The absolute worst ever of any Cowboys fans. Excuses for Romo but not for other QBs, especially not for Dak.
I make plenty of excuses for Dak. I even apologize for the excuse before I do it at times. It's basically all I can do. But for Romo, there is nothing to apologize for. He had plenty of game losing picks in the regular season. Just not in the playoffs. That 4th and 11 with 16 seconds left and no timeouts from the 24 yard line, that's really reaching.

Nobody was talking to you. Now go make your bed, eat your breakfast, brush your teeth and make sure not to miss the retirement center's bus that's going to take you to the bingo hall.

Hate to break the news to ya...but you are talking to the entire world. I thought you said stuff like don't tell other people what to do. Now you're doing it. Oh wait...OTHER people can't do it but YOU can. Right.

You are extra grouchy today. Hope you feel better soon.

The problem ...er...people have...is those games romo lost? They'd never even be close if he wasn't always bailing them out. AC isn't afraid to lecture you about a romo last second interception...but won't mentioned what he did to get the team a chance. I cite the Manning/Broncos game...because I am a simple dude and that's the easiest one to remember. AC will tell you how it was ROMO that lost that game. Not Romo going toe to toe with a HoF QB the defense couldn't stop the WHOLE game.

"Dak needs a defense"....but Romo shouldn;t have needed one.

Dak was sacked 21 times in the 8 games he played. That would have expanded out to 45, his 2nd highest season total in his career.

His 28 hits in 8 games was on pace to be 59, his highest for a season.

His 80 pressures was on pace to be 170, his highest for a season.

His Hurry passes of 31 was on pace to be 65, his highest since his rookie year when most of those came from inexperience.

I would say Dak was on the run a great deal more than two or three times.

This thread became the Dak Haterade vs. the Romo Haterville. The only QB this franchise's fans never booed was Staubach. Other than that, even Troy, with his 3 SB rings, was booed mercilessly at the end of his career.
