5:04 p.m. — The prevailing word to begin the Brian Schottenheimer era in Dallas is "culture", and it's permeating everything the Cowboys are doing.
The first-time head coach has put into place a number of processes and competitive outlets for players, and expects veterans to buy in fully — including helping to acclimate rookies.
Tyler Smith, one of two resident leaders of an offensive now without a recently retired Zack Martin, spoke from OTAs about what culture means to him going forward.
"I think it's huge for the success of this football team," said the All-Pro. "Establishing the culture early and getting everybody onboard is ultimately our goal. Schotty talks about it every day, but we're gonna compete everyday. Sometimes he has to pull back on us [in practice] but I'd rather him pull back on us than us not go hard. … The ultimate goal is to win the Super Bowl."

Yep, on cue as usual, the negative Nancie’s chime in.
Well ... It kind of seems like the organization has heard us, the fans complain about the culture, so on their propaganda network they are just telling us "The prevailing word to begin the Brian Schottenheimer era in Dallas is 'culture'"

I mean XD what kind of fool would buy into that, given this organization reputation over the past decades, that this isn't just words being fed to us. I mean I'm sure the marks on here will quickly jump onto that, and say "here is change," whereas the rest of us prefer action over words and think seeing is believing. I'm sad to say that I do think a lot of our fan base are marks instead of realists, which is one of the reason I rather be labeled a "negative Nancy" for not being easily fooled, versus as being on of the delusional members of the fan base who will easily buy into anything the Joneses feed 'em.

I will buyin on the Culture change, when GM Jethro starts acting different.

Good luck getting the culture to change because it requires everyone to hop on board for a shared purpose. A few dissenters and the whole thing crashes and burns.

And then there's Jerry who, as everyone knows, has different expectations. Ultimately, Jerry is going to be the one to derail everything Schotty claims to be working on.

Remember the comments last offseason from Jerry being 'all in' and what followed right afterwards?

It would be wise to take every comment coming out of The Star with a grain of salt, no matter who the messenger might be. We'll never know the truth, but I wouldn't be surprised if it came out that all this 'culture' nonsense is actually coming from Jerry's office and Schotty is being ordered to pass the word.

No surprise this is how your mind perceives this.

lol on ol’ Schotty changing the culture. To impact this teams culture, you must possess full authority to hire and fire your staff and hire and fire players. Ol’ Schotty has no authority over either one. Explain to me how a toothless figurehead “head coach” establishes a new culture when all players and coaches answer directly to Jerry.

Fans: culture sucks. Change it

Team: we recognize the need to change the culture so we’re trying to do that

Fans: only suckers think culture change means anything

You guys are the most miserable lot imaginable
