Video: Deuce Vaughn: Energy and Brotherhood

No. Deuce kept getting hit in the backfield. That isn't his fault. Same thing was happening to Zeke last year.
Dowdle got hit several times in the backfield and found a way to make a play on some of those. He rarely suffered a negative carry.

They were unable to set a bar low enough for him to reach.
Plus the team is worried if they win it all and go to Disney land that one one their players will not be qualified to get on all the rides.
Or he might become part of the cast of one of the rides!

He doesn’t bother me, the cavalier attitude of burning a roster position on someone who isn’t contributing to the team bothers me.
Every team uses roster positions on players that don't really contribute. Depth/backups are on every team and are there to be used if injury occurs. Some players use a roster spot and rarely even make the game day roster. Deuce didn't himself much of the time.

Deuce had 2 years and likely will not have a 3rd, but as always and as with every team there will be depth players that don't leapfrog the starters and rotational players.

Let’s be honest, they burned a roster stop for his old man. That’s what this whole thing looks like and that cavalier attitude bothers me. It should bother anyone with any sense.

There's absolutely nothing wrong about Duece's size.

If there was a football league for Hobbits .

He's not without talent. The NFL has great athletes. He's right the game has evolved some. Maybe he would have made it 15 years ago. But right now it's not looking good... This coming from someone who thought he might have had something.

I wanted Chase Brown in the 5th. Instead, they traded up for Eric Scott then drafted Deuce.

It's mind-boggling that they cut Scott, but they still haven't dropped Deuce.

On another note, maybe this is breakout year. What are the odds?
Chase Brown was drafted before the Cowboys picked Asim Richards in the 5th round. Eric Scott was taken with the first pick in the 6th round right after Puka Nacua. Cowboys gave a 2024 5th for that pick to Chiefs. Chiefs took C Hunter Nourzad.

Such hate for a bubble player. I don't see anyone so eagerly counting down the days for guys like Waletzko or Jalen Brooks.

It's really irrational. So he was a good story on draft day. Does that mean you should despise him?

It's not like we drafted some nobody just because his dad works here. Deuce was a wildly productive back in college and, while he has yet to get any significant time during the season, has performed when given opportunities in preseason. Like many bubble players.

The hate on this board toward him is completely disproportionate to the impact, or lack of impact, he has on the team.
Totally agree. Most of those hating on Deuce I bet can't even run a lap around the football field without throwing up or sharting in their shorts. Disappointing to see how easy some can be so disrespectful and ugly, yet I know they can't do jack themselves if asked to.

Let’s keep it 100 on Vaughn. Some people don’t like him because they feel him being drafted was nepotism. But the fact is he was a great college player. He was worthy of a late round pick. And I’d take a shot at him any day of that week even with his size. He maybe can’t play in this league and he certainly is a tough sell as a running back who can’t play special teams. But this amusement you guys have of him wanting him gone doesn’t seem warranted. I’m rooting for him. Good kid.

I don’t watch much special teams tape, but I remember during one of Turpin’s PR return TDs last year, Vaughn ran in front of him and threw two crucial blocks. I don’t know if it would have been a return TD if not for Deuce.

oh, there are quite a few who are counting down days for all these waste of roster spot fringe players. they are nothing but experiments and after one year, then just be done with it. players like him belong on PS. you can evaluate them there.

Has anyone done a poll to see the average age of this site? I hope it’s mostly teenagers. It would be pretty sad if it’s mostly adults and really sad if it’s older adults.

I won't speak to these childish accusations of loving or hating a player, but the one thing we know is that Royce Freeman was sent into retirement when he realized he was competing for a roster spot against Deuce Vaughn.

There's a long list of players that became roster fodder when they've gone up against #42

yeah, I'm just saying they could have traded up for Brown or something rather than Scott..but I hear you.
