Packers Release Jaire Alexander

I thought he was sort of bad at the end in Dallas last go around but he played more then he should’ve. I think there’s a role for him because we do have young corners.
Personally I don't like the idea. At his age you can only count on continued regression. There is a very good he will be at a point of being unplayable at this point in his career. Leadership is great, but any addition we make at CB needs to be able to play at a reasonable level. Im just willing to place that bet on Gilmore at this stage in his career given his regression

I don’t disagree….but in a limited role and a mocked room guy I can see it. If it’s up to me I wouldn’t. It would be Zeke in the cornerback room. And I defended the Zeke move if they just wanted a goal line back but they didn’t have the heart or the balls to limit him and he wasn’t even that great at that.

Maybe the packers would be interested in trading for Diggs while we sign Alexander on the cheap. Win\Win.

Solidifies the defense until Diggs returns. Asking price probably dips due to injury, plenty of cap space available. I'd make this move.

Is Bland injured and I missed it somehow?
No, but who is CB2? Lots of guys should be back by mid season, but if we are looking at a playoff run (which we should be), I wouldn't feel too great about Kaiir Elam or Caelen Carson out wide to start the season.

Alexander would just have to stay healthy long enough for Diggs to return. How much is that worth to Dallas?

At the same time Dallas has been talking up the CBs it has. Elam is going to be resurrected by coming to Dallas. Or is he? Revell would have been a first round pick had he not gotten injured last year. Carson just needed a year to adjust. Blah, blah, blah.

IMO this would be a horrible move for a team who has a high priced Diggs expected back at some point and Bland plus a 3rd rounder who we considered in the 2nd round and who many thought had first round talent if he didn't get injured. Plus a couple of the other guys (Elam, Butler (perhaps next year), etc) who could round out the bottom of the depth chart. In a cap world and with our current roster set up and bigger needs, this would be a bad signing. Now if we traded Diggs that would change the scenario greatly, but you still aren't likely paying both Alexander and Bland so it means saying goodbye to Bland next year - which I'm not saying would be bad, but it would happen. We aren't bringing in a high priced CB without breaking up this group because you aren't paying 2 or 3 CBs big dollars and also running a promising rookie out there. If you want to improve the team, focus elsewhere. We have a lot of spots in greater need of an infusion of talent. I don't get why so many keep fawning over every CB rumor.

He's been injury prone, but he's an All Pro when healthy and we need experienced CB's this year. Hopefully Jerry finished eating his salty Sausage McMuffin so he can jump on this.

First of all everything you said you can look at it from a different angle the Cowboys need to do their due diligence and research on why he's being released they need to bring him in for an interview great they must do that you can't just dismiss this,.

However the fan base is delusional there's a process to this you must bring him in for an interview a physical and really try to figure out where his head's at contract wise because an injury prone player which we have many at corner already is why you think we need a corner you need to figure out why he's being released and where he's at both mentally and physically..

His money demands will matter but I only think I agree with this the cowboy shouldn't just pass they should bring him in for an interview and whatever happens in that interview has to also include a physical and talk about where he wants to hit with his contract this gonna matter this man is also injury proud you want to bring in another corner that's been inconsistent and injury prone and he wants a brand new deal.

Yes it makes sense if you were interested in Jalen Ramsey's which would have cost you draft capital and this contract is kind of too high for his age now you get a guy you can bring in and negotiate contracts and it doesn't cost you anything in the draft that actually should happen the Cowboys should at least look into this but acting like it's a no brainer I would say that you have no brains if you think it's that easy.

There are reasons you have to go through a process before you sign a player but they definitely need to throw their hat in the ring and see where it goes....

Better option than Gilmore?
Still they will wait to see what they have going into TC.
I don't think so I think they'll give this some consideration they were truly interested in Jalen Ramsey's but it would have cost them a draft pick and a player with a huge contract that comes with some baggage in this case no draft capital and you can negotiate a contract they just at least should interview the guy give him a physical and talk to him I don't think they're just going to dismiss this I think it would be smart to at least bring him in for an interview..

But those fans that think this is a number brainer this is why they're not running a sports franchise you have to give the guy a physical and you have to talk to him about his contract demands because sometimes players overvalue themselves and if your injury prone and we already have injury prone corners this is not a no brainer this will take some deep thought in a investigation before you make a decision..

If it was that easy then why aren't the Packers keeping him if it's a no brainer the Packers should just give him a new deal it isn't that simple it never is...

He refused to rework his contract to an amount closer to his value to the Packers. That likely killed what little trade value he had. Now he’s there for the taking (signing), but 7-10 teams can’t afford to gamble on oft injured players.

is he healthy now? or is he rehabbing? how much would be his salary if we pick him up? we have three CBs that are coming off injury. do we want to add another one?
