Twitter: Cowboys working out UFL D-Lineman

Aubrey is an excellent kicker.
Turpin is a great end of roster special teamer who can elevate in packages, but it has been 3 years.

You are trolling the UFL for players hoping to improve the bottom of your roster. If you land on something more than that it is frankly dumb luck.
This guy is obviously behind the Rookie, Micah, Kneeland and Sam on a roster this season even if he is special.
His most likely landing spot would the practice squad unless they think he is another undersized 3T type they can rotate in.

And Kurt Warner was bagging groceries.

While I agree with you, I also agree you never know.

That and its hard to crap on our track record with UFL.

I'm not sure how to say this but I stand by what I said

if Butler didn't get hurt last year he looked very promising he looked better than Carson and last time I checked you weren't doing anything you don't know what they're doing ,they're not looking to build the bottom of their roster, they're hoping to find people that stick if it happens to be rotational players that's fine ,

but if you are understating what Turpin is he's the best special teams returner in the nfl , could be even better at WR3/4 IF MM had a creative bone in his body...

he came from the ufl

Aubrey is the best kicker in the nfl he came from the UFL

that means they can probably Get Lucky and might find a player that ends up blowing their doors off and becomes a starter...

so I stand by what I said and I'll keep saying it there's nothing wrong with this acting like they're just gonna find nothing but jags is untrue because that's what you inferred and that's how I took it and that's why I responded the way i did.

Using two 3 techs at DT makes you inherently weak vs the run. It's not just about "finding a good football player."
Yes, I'm not saying to use obviously out of position players at say the nose tackle position. We need beefier guys at the 1 tech. All I'm saying is we are not looking at the entire picture sometimes when it comes to the player and his tape. If the tape says a player plays well at the 1 tech in college, even if he doesn't meet our measurables (undersized and has short arms for example), why are we not just taking guys and seeing what they can do? For example, the geniuses in the scouting department thought Mazi Smith met the criteria of what a 1 tech is, but what they forgot was, to ask themselves a couple questions, does he have the drive, does he get the job done? Size doesn't always mean they can be a good player at the 1 tech. Look at EVERYTHING is all I'm saying. I finally think we are doing so but time will tell.

Like I said before, I'm just asking for 1 good to great player at the 1 tech. Preferably beefy but that's not the end all be all. Just want a guy that plays his tail off and holds the point enough so the guys can rally to the ball.

I am too.......I just wish that we could get a player like Pickens in free agency or trade more often than every 6 or 7 years. I believe Amari in 2018 was our last proven baller
My only issue is it's kind of a waste if they don't go for it or extend him.

And even more important, does he have the burst and lateral agility(no).

Mazi was a huge miss by the coaching staff, thinking they could turn him into something he could never become.

Hopefully Mazi is back to who he was, and let's find out if he can impact the game being himself.

If he can eat up space and let our LB's roam freely, I couldn't care less about his stats.

Mazi I would not take him down to 260 and still expect a trash can full of dirt. You?

You are describing a 3 technique, right ...
No. A NT also needs to be able to move laterally to shore up the middle, and if he doesn't have enough burst off the snap the OL will get under his pads and push him back. Those are the two reasons Mazi isn't good.
