Dak on his legacy - I want to win a championship

Man you guys never stop.

Dak vs Romo

Trolls and haters.

Give it a rest.

Your Dallas Cowboys are just another NFL football team and you’re just kidding yourselves if you expect anything different.
What happened to “Give it a rest”?

Dude… 27-0 at the half. Not only did Dak and the offense sputter and misfire all half— Dak’s pick 6 was a horrific decision and an absolute back breaker.

If you think that L vs GB is the same as the L vs NYG— you don’t know football. There was actually a chance we could win the game vs NY, but all they could do vs GB was slap some lipstick on the pig in the 2nd half and window dress their stat line.

Remember the OP: this thread exists because Dak is talking (again) about his legacy and wanting to win a SB. I am not comparing him to Romo. You brought up the NY game to minimize Dak’s suckfest against GB.

That shame of a game stands alone in Dallas playoff history. And Dak’s play was a huge reason why
dude....if crayton made the catch, he would have probably scored and thus it wasn't romo it was crayton. he didn't lose the game it was everybody else.

so given this type of non-sensical reasoning, can I say the defense failed Dak in 2016 in beating GB? or the defense failed Dak against the rams when they allowed 250 yards rushing!? I mean seriously. there is always a spin.

like I said, its not a comparison. but Romo 2-4 in playoffs. and I asked a simple question that if it was as bad for a #1 seed to lose to a #5 seed...vs. #2 vs #7.....

yes, the shame of Romo losing a home game scoring 11 points less than season average against a team they beat twice and dominated during the season. the sad part, is we rushed for 150+ yards. but Romo only completed 50% of his passes for a meager 200 yards. and he was only sacked twice....Romo just laid an egg. nothing to argue about there.

and yes, this loss to GB was shameful. I was very upset hearing freaking Williams had planned a victory party. and that team, including Dak had that deer in the headlight look. btw, lets not forget GB got the ball first, controlled the clock for 8 minutes and scored easily, with having 1 3rd down inside the 6. that team laid a big fat egg. I never said they did.

but like I said, its 6 of this, half a dozen of the other.... people tend to take sides and dug in.

Sounds like you use those tactics often enough to know them well.

For...people...like you...you can't criticze Dak. There's ALWAYS some excuse. "You didn't criticize other QBs". "It's a TEAM game". "Dak came in SECOND for MVP".

And the COOL one "Dak has all the stats". So it's NOT a team game there, eh?

So....a walk on QB performed just about the same as a 4th round QB? How can THAT be? So you see...how YOUR logic is just as silly as anyone else's?

Here's where I totally kill and destroy your narrative and false accusations my friend.

I have stated MANY times that Dak HAS contributed to our short comings in the biggest games at times. DAK HAS FALTERED AND WILTED AT TIMES WE REALLY NEEDED HIM TO STEP UP AND TAKE CHARGE.

I have many posts stating that so I respectfully apologize in advance for crushing your lies about me not holding Dak accountable.

With that said, Dak is not the only player that has failed us in the most crucial situations.

You and others love blaming Dak solely for ALL of the Dallas Cowboys failures and that is absolutely a bold face lie. That's just not the truth. Dak doesn't get a pass for his shortcomings.

It's just hilarious how yall conveniently leave out the others who fell short in the same game. We led the league in penalties for 3 or 4 straight seasons. How many of them has Dak committed?

I mean you can call him a loser and say he sucks that’s fine I just think it’s pathetic in order to say it you have to resort to “he couldn’t make Beasley a number 1”….
He didn’t just fail at that. He hasn’t done much even when given the talent around him.

The bolded is the problem. That is the foundation for your entire argument. It is simply not true. Dak is judged by what he brings to the table in the post season games. The number of people here who aren't smart enough to understand that the judgment doesn't start and stop with the QB is practically nil.

The general sentiment that Dak doesn't have what it takes to win a championship does not also mean that Dak is expected to win a championship with any roster.

Both can be true.

Listen, I dont disagree with you. But there are certain people here who place all blame on Dak for the shortcomings of the entire team. They aren't very smart and it's obvious.

We all know Dak isn't elite and I can't argue with the flak that he catches at times especially due to what he's getting paid. With that said, I respect the standards that he's held to.

I just want to make sure that the same energy is given to ALL the other quarterbacks in the same post season situations. I don't want to hear how much Dak is supposed to elevate the play of the other players around him.....

Then in the same breath, the same people give excuses to other quarterbacks around the league for failing to elevate the play of the players around them due to bad teams and bad coaching, etc.

If a standard is set for Dak, then that same standard is set for all the other quarterbacks. That's all im saying.

Not trying just seems like a cowards way out to me.
What is more of a not try than to sit with a proven loser on your roster while not even trying to improve the position? What is more cowardly than claiming that the next guy might not be as good so we are going to continue with the loser?

No argument from me that other players sucked that day and sure the entire team laid an egg… the issue with Dak is his coming out and talking about legacy and SB etc… after his repeated letdowns in the playoffs. It’s like he is just shrugging away his past failures and hoping his words alone will atone for past mistakes and get the job done.

Show us on the field. Stop talking. I don’t need a 9 year vet to tell me what his goals are and what he hoped his legacy is.

He wanted the bag and wanted to be paid like he is elite. Now shut up and do it. The fanbase wants some ROI — and his cliche talking points have fatigued the NFL.

It’s why Dak is a league wide meme and why we are a joke. Nothing but front-runners blowing sunshine and hot air. It’s time to stop talking and to get it done.

Dak, we want you to win a championship. You just don't have it in you. Nobody is saying you're not trying but (as Bill Parcells would say) you are what your record says you are. Your record in post season isn't championship Calibur....

At this point I’m more in the group of, hey you got your bag, so just leave. I know the next few years will just be more waste in watching this loser mark time. Doing what he always has done, beat up on the pathetic teams in the league while being a no show when asked to step up.

Here's where I "destroy' YOURS.

You think because people have criticisms for Dak, they have never criticized any other aspect of the team.

That's the craziest thing I have ever seen here. Remarkable achievement.

You are right...

but we never used to be "just another NFL football team".. how far we have fallen.
It's weird how some people just accept the less than mediocrity. We went from playoffs and super bowls, to "we own our division" to "12 win seasons" to "MVP runner up".

I suppose it's inevitable...I am sure a lot of these fans are less than 40 years old. Numerous others just gave up.

His record in the post season is actually worse than just “not championship caliber”.

In fact.

Dak has the worst playoff record ever for a QB with at least 5 playoff starts.
