Some Cowboys games are still fun to watch

I know a lot of us get down about our team's lack of playoff success, but that doesn't mean there aren't some fun moments week to week.

I stumbled across a 2014 game at Seattle, when the Seahawks coming off their Super Bowl victory were 3-1 and we were 4-1. Seattle had lost only 1 game at home in its last 21 (or 41), had not given up a 100-yard rusher all season (or even a 40-yard rusher) and on top of that our defense had not been great against the run and Seattle was a strong running team.

We handicapped ourselves in this one by giving up a blocked punt for a TD and Dwayne Harris muffing a punt that resulted in a TD. On top of that we had a bad snap in that loud environment that resulted in a turnover and Seattle field goal.

As much as Rod Marinelli has been maligned on here, his group of misfits and castoffs (George Selvie, Tyrone Crawford, Nick Hayden and Anthony Spencer was our starting DL) played outstanding in shutting down both Marshawn Lynch and Seattle's passing game. They were flying to the ball, getting pressure and the secondary was sticky in coverage.

DeMarco Murray not only surpassed 40 yards rushing (breaking 100 with 119), but Joseph Randle also had over 50. And Romo made a Romo play when we needed it most, spinning away from pressure, sliding to his right, directing traffic and delivering a great pass on third-and-20 on our winning TD drive. Even though it was a great pass, Terrence Williams had to go up and get it because it was thrown over Witten and a defender and Williams managed to drag his toes as he fell out of bounds (may have been the best catch of his career).

We know that season finished in disappointment, but just taken by itself, that game had all the things you want to see from your team in overcoming adversity.

No doubt we have some great games over the years. But, we also had some heartbreakers that I don't care to re-watch!
Yeah, I only pick out the victories. We've lived through enough disappointments that I'm not interested in rewatching the losses.

Right. I never watch replays of losses.

I have a lot of the 90's wins during the SB year, and some after that on VHS. But have not watched any of those for a good 20 years. As the SB's are on you tube. But I download those to an external disk drive. Where it is, not sure. Somewhere in the back of a drawer.

The only loss I have is when Emmitt got the rushing title overtaking Walter Payton.

Amazing game. Romo pulled off some clutch throws, the team won against all odds and overcame adversity.

I remember watching that game in the Hippodrome Casino in London. A fair few Cowboy fans in there. It was a great night, genuinely a really warm feeling amongst all the Cowboys and an inner confidence that the team was on the verge of a big season.

Just a real shame that the defense wasn't built to win a Championship. Even Sean Lee missed the entire season with injury. Imagine Parsons and one of the good corners the team has had lately on that team. Shame. Missed opportunity.

Yeah man its awesome to dig the VCR out of the attic and watch the 1996 NFC championship game. Too bad don't have any to watch since HD was developed.

The Romo / Manning game back in 2013 was insane!
500 yards passing 5 TD's for Romo!
Even though we came up a lil short it is still a fun game to watch.
Yeah. I was at that game! I, and everyone seated around me, were screaming for some defense!!! Both offenses kept exchanging TD's. If you like offense, that was a game for you. If you like defense, you were SOL as neither team's defense felt like participating that day!! LOL

lol...I never watch past games when I already know the outcome, it's a waste of time. That's like reading a book all over again, no value in it. I mean how bored must you be to do that?

I still enjoy watching the Cowboys, but it’s not like it was during the 70s and early 80s and early to mid 90s. I used to get butterflies before games during their glory years. Even though their Super Bowl drought will be 30 years i’ll never give up hope they’ll reach the dance once again. I wouldn’t have the passion for posting on this board if I had no hope.

yes i loved that game, remember it vividly.

Also, last year's win against Pittsburgh comes to mind, as does the "walk the dog" game against Pittsburgh in 2016.

The seattle playoff game comes to mind as thats the only playoff game in memory that was fun and interesting (the game against TB was fun but we were much the better team so a bit expected).
