Myles Garrett: Parsons should get every penny he's owed

He has said that he plans to show up
I think that was the mandatory they just concluded........if I remember correctly, he didn't commit to training camp. I'll see if I can find the quote.......

Ok here it is .........wordings

His key words.....it's in the owner's hands whether or not he will be there for training camp

"Yeah, I'll still be in Oxnard," Parsons said. "Already got my house, I already got my house, it's already said and done, so I'll be in Oxnard. Me, my kids, my family, so we'll be there."

But will Micah be on the grass practicing?

"Yeah, I'll be out there," he added.

He said both, the comments about minicamp and the comments about training camp. The quotes I used points out that he is talking about Oxnard, where camp is held not the minicamp, and that he says he'll be out on the field.

Here's another: https://www.si.com/nfl/cowboys/news...las-cowboys-training-camp-amid-contract-drama

The only thing he hasn't committed to is practicing without a new contract. Frankly, I think he might do what he did at minicamp: take part in some of the drills, but avoid the contact drills. Of course, players can get hurt in non-contact drills.

I'm ok with that. 99% would do the same thing, if they had the leverage. At any job.
There’s almost no chance it doesnt go that way. I’m have no problem with Micah in the equation. The team had four years of him on a rookie deal to take advantage of.

Now, the lack of a deal may or may not be a distraction to football but I don’t believe that’s a consideration of the powers that be. Actually it shouldn’t be a headline at all considering he is under contract and is subject to two tags, but the Cowboys are click magnets I guess.

It’s just a tired act already, We already know they’ve been saving their cap pennies for years to sign him. At least he is actually elite.

Shouldn’t he do a team friendly deal? I mean he’s commented on that before I thought.
Why should he?

The team has over 30m in cap right now that they aren’t doing anything with.

Micah had said he would consider his price if he thought the team could use it to put more FA talent on the field

Obviously, that hasn’t happened so the only reason to take less is to make fans happy.

Same thing with Dak. If Dak was making 55, what would the team do with that other 5?

Nothing.

That doesn’t stop loads of posters from saying that Daks greed is the reason why the team won’t win.

And he will get it while saying he wasn't wanting it. Hell be hypocrite 2 with Dak crew and they will likely miss the playoffs, look to these 2 firstly when it happens. I obviously hope they are super healthy and they can sneak it, very possible, but health will dictate. Vegas -7.5, they are not dumb, and all the homers betting the overs already, they stay 90% healthy they will beat it, but its a big IF.

He has said that he plans to show up. Whether he'll participate is a different question. I think his agent would advise him to sit out practices and not risk injury. He might only sit out contact drills, though.

I believe everything you've stated. My only fear about him sitting out of contact drills is the higher chances of getting hurt after getting paid late and being physically out of football shape .

They always rollover 20M

Dak due to earn 400M in lifetime $$$ from Jerry.

Micah gonna get paid. 40M+ per year.

Agent won’t budge.

It does start the countdown clock on when Micah gets cut.

they never pay out all the $$$ on the big contracts.
That's life in the NFL. Get their top years and move on. That's why players get what they can, when they can.

The Cleveland Brown’s owner has messed up the salaries for the top players in the other NFL owners eyes. It started with Dashawn Watson and now it happened again with Garrett. It’s not just a Dallas problem either. Jackson and the Ravens had issues because Lamar wanted a fully guaranteed contract. Now Watt and the Bengals defensive end are at odds with their teams. Without the crazy Garrett extension I believe that Parsons would have signed for 37 million and would be set for training camp. I am worried the owners will start colluding like they did with Lamar Jackson.

Parsons should sit out all activities until he sets the edge rusher market because he’s a generational player. If he wants to win a ring, he’ll never get that in Dallas.
The owner is so stupid! You pay generation players like Micah. You build defenses around these type of players.
What you don't do is set the market with turd QBs.

Lamar Jackson's agent is his mother. He's keeping the money in the family. You know that has to piss off these high profile sports agents. I think it's great!!

Agree. Micah and many other players get terrible advice from agents. I get it, it's a business, strike while the iron is hot. The shelf life of a NFL player is very fleeting. But why not keep it in the family?
