Cowboys Sign Former Browns DT Perrion Winfrey

Rainbows?

Couldn't crack the Jets roster? They activated him then he injured his foot in his first game after obviously being rightly afraid about his character concerns.

I'm telling you. This dude has at least a little talent in spite of the concerns, which I think may be your actual problem with him.

I dont have a problem with him. Maybe he makes the 54. We need DT depth. My problem is you talking him but like we just made a real move. Like we just got a contributor. Take the move for what it is, signing camp body who stuggled in the NFL but might just have enough talent to push for a roster spot. The euphoric level optimism with little to no substance is a bit much. Like when you said Payton Turner will really help our run defense, dispute the fact that he is one of the worst run defending DE's in the NFL

Sure, but I'm just trying to figure how you think he struggled in the NFL. All I'm saying is he was a top prospect out of college. Taken in the 4th, character concerns, but did have a 2nd round grade.

Then, he wasn't exactly bad if we consider he was a 4th round pick in his rookie year.

He struggled, thus far, because he screwed up in his rookie year, got arrested, then was stashed until late season the next year in the Jets..but they activated him after they got their butts whipped, presumably so they can be better.

Then he got hurt. I'm just saying, this isn't some guy we know is a JAG. He may be or not. But he's got lots of talent. I'm not the only one who has ever said it either. I just understand he cost almost nothing...and, yet, had a 2nd round grade on his talent alone. So, at this point, I think it's likely he's developed some and likely makes the team.

Then again, I could always be wrong. A lot riding on him not being a knucklehead. Or maybe he never plays a down for us. I really like this because it's about as good as you can do at this point in the season.

Could be. But if they like him enough then someone would be cut to make room.
Why wouldn't they have just cut that person today instead of Rogers then? Weirder things have happened, but Id imagine this just about closes the book on Rogers in Dallas. If they can't fit him on the offseason 90 man, its unlikely they have room on the 53 for him, or the 17 man.

Where are you getting that he was stashed until late in the year? He was inactive week 2 and week 8-10. The rest of the games he played 40% of the snaps. And he stuggled, particularly against the run. Graded out 197th amound DT's against the run in 2022.

College is one thing, but the NFL didn't think enough of his ability to give him another chance until now. Even with his charge, the NFL rarely lets real ability sit that long. Maybe he catches, but its foolish to expect any more than a 5th DT at this stage. It would be a win for him to make the PS

For sure....Big guys like Rogers are rare and going to get multiple chances to stick with a team, but we also forget that he was available for any team to grab off the Cincinnati PS last year and there wasn't any interest. The guy is clearly not viewed as much more than lottery ticket depth by 32 teams.

I was talking about how the Jets stashed him on their PS. I'm aware he struggled some his rookie year...

He played with Whitecotton for the Jets, so he's apparently behind bringing him in and releasing Rogers.

Again, he had a 2023 injury in NY. Don't think he recovered for the next year....

Are you getting the grade from PFF?
