At some point someone is going to acknowledge this goes both ways and say they don’t have to sign with Dallas either. Imagine if Micah openly discussed playing out his rookie contract and testing free agency the same way Jerry openly says he’s not planning to pay Micah right now

With how his career has started, Micah will be the highest paid non-QB ever regardless of how 2025 goes

This is true, but there is no way in hell Parson will play a full season, full season being the key, on a franchise tag. He will sit out half of the season and play just enough games

Just the other day there was a headline saying the Steelers were looking into trade options for Watt and now he's the highest paid non QB, so we'll see.

There was a time when he went on some show or podcast and said he didn't want to be the top paid defensive player and he wanted to keep as many guys as possible.

If I was Jerry, I would have had a $36m per year (with good guaranteed money) in front of him the next day and made a big deal in the media about how selfless he was. That would have put him only under Garrett at the time.
