Well there goes the narrative that players just don't want to sign early. Reality is Jerry/Stephen don't want to commit too much money into one offseason.

In this case your 100% right. I defended the teams position by saying it was the agent. Buy repeatedly we've been told no contact with agent has been made.

Again I think it's more about the guarantee being put in escrow so team is waiting on the NFL money to be released. But why not communicate that to Micah?

I wanted it done last year though I do get the logistics of spreading out deals so big money doesn’t hit on 3 guys the same year. But this should have gotten done first thing this league year either way

I don't think they are. I think Jerry may think he's negotiated with Micah. And they may have, but Micah told him to call his agent.

Years ago Jerry once said if he could just get the player in room no agent hed sign anyone. It think he may think he had that with Micah.

At the start Micah has said he never needed 40 mil a year.

Whatever the dynamic is in Dallas now with contracts, it's clear here the ball was dropped.

Looking at the posts about Parsons, and knowing the history of this team, I believe there would be a great number of people who would have wanted to trade Emmitt.

I have said this many times. The worst thing in the world that could happen to the Dallas Cowboy fan was for the Madden game to be created and sold. There are just too many people who believe they are GM like in their thinking.

Deadlines have always made deals for the major players in Dallas under the Jones ownership. There may be a few exceptions here and there, but for the vast majority this is what happens. Fans should just bury their heads in the sand, cover eyes/ears and ignore all of the "noise" you hear from ownership, agents and frustrated players. Not saying it's right, but it is what it is...

For the Diggs extension, for example, it was a relatively low signing bonus, so he was signed before his 4th year began. But for the positions that the market has higher up front guarantees they just drag. Dak, CDL, now Parsons etc..

Unless it's zeke holding out they just go till deadlines for the bigger deals $ wise.

I'm not losing any sleep over this, but just find it crazy how cheap this FO can be.
Mike needed to be canned after the GB game but they kept him and coaches under contract for a throw away year. I have to believe now a large reason was cause they had to pay him anyways.

It's hard to do three big contracts in one year. Preferably you stagger them as best as you can. But the fact people keep missing is that the Cowboys don't extend their stars after 3 years. Point to one player where they did. Zeke forced it, or it wouldn't have happened.
