News: Fish/Skip: Jerry quoted saying he offered Micah almost $200M guranteed

Whatever Jerry. 26-year-olds sign four-year deals. Period, end of story.

This joker got Tyron Smith to sign for an eight-year deal once and thinks that is what needs to happen. If healthy, Micah is going to cash in on a third deal extension like Watt and Garrett did.

Whatever the value of the yearly salary is at signing is going to look light four years down the line.

This is a four-year 180 million deal with about 120 mill guaranteed at signing.

Micah's agent is going to want to money earlier rather than later because he isn't an idiot. Jerry, whose income is tied to interest on investments, wants to hold that money as long as he can.

This is why families cannot make sports teams their primary source of income. You need to be able to come up with giant sums of cash. And in the current environment, Jerry is sort of poor.

Jerry needs to sell some of the club to private equity firms. It is just so increasingly clear that the Jones family lives large but doesn't have the liquidity needed for the modern NFL environment. This is why the NFLPA survey found them near the bottom on training room and training staff.

So 5 years 40 mil per, which is expected to be around his value...so why didn't he call his agent and get the deal done? I don't believe anything that comes out of this scumbags mouth.
Yeah good point. That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

The reason he tried to bypass the agent was because of a Dez Bryant problem?

Jerry thinks he is as sharp as ever but is seriously losing it quickly. Good luck finding people to feel sorry for him as it happens.

Yeah, maybe over 8 years or something.

The fact that Jerry won't negotiate with Micah's agent tells you all you need to know.

SELL THE TEAM!!!!!!!
I blame the agent as much as I do Jerry on this one. Jerry wanted the deal done, MP wanted the deal done. The agent created the mess. In all honesty, in this day and age he should’ve been smart enough to negotiate the deal himself with a couple attorneys and save 10-15 million. It’s not like all of it hasn’t been seen before. Mulligetta is as shrewd and conniving as Jerry.

If it’s a 5 year deal I could see his issue.

Cap goes up about 10% every year. In 4-5 years the top pay for an edge rusher will be about 15-20 million more a year than now.
Lord. Where will the excessive contracts end? I'm sorry , I get what your saying but given his lack of impact in late season games, this was a sweet deal for him. Fair and very rich. He wants the max then some and it's pricing himself out of Dallas. Maybe that's his true intent. Maybe he's being honest and he wants out.

Makes sense, there were rumors that the hangup was years more than dollars. Jerry was offering roughly 40 mil per year for five years, Micah's agent wanted a shorter deal.

Jerry is bucking up to the agent. The agent is trying to take it over the top. Jerry is stonewalling him because he gave an honest deal.

That is the story arch, which seems like it may find resolution right before or right after game 1.

If not by then, next season.

Whatever the deal really is, I still think all this back and forth drama is staged.
...what Parsons agent wants, leaves no buffer room for next year. IF they want to retain anyone.

I wonder how KC and Philly make it work?

Anyone know if this guy is legit? I haven't seen it from another source as of now

so you want to pay big dollars to lose? great tactic chief.

again, even if he punched you in the face, JJ has said "IM NOT WINNING THE SB"

you: JJ wants to win the SB.
It's not my money.

Why are you concerned with Jerry's pockets?

Agents will be agents.

Jerry and Stephen are clowns. Why don't the Eagles have these issues?

Who else does Micah's agent represent? Did those players have these dramatic stalemates too?
