Micah is doing the right thing. If he was to receive a career ending injury in the last year of his contract, the NFL contract culture would drop him like a bad habit. There is no denying Micah is a generational talent and he should exploit that unicorn status to his benefit.

It's not Micah's fault. It's not Jerry's fault. It's the NFLPA's fault. The union should be negotiating these contracts. A player who hits certain benchmarks (years, stats, whatever) gets X dollars. Players shouldn't be having to negotiate their deals out of a finite pie. This system favors the superstar player and kills the rank and file player who makes up a majority of the league. The union needs to represent everyone equally and it is not.

What would you have the union do? As it is right now the players get paid their market value. The rank and file can vote for a strike to remedy this injustice. But they don't. It's the rank and file player that prevents any possible strike. I've been in unions all of my life. You have to organize your members. If they're going to vote yes to anything put in front of them, you'll get crapped on.

When we drafted Parsons, I was overjoyed. I loved the pick and for a while there I thought we should build around the guy!! I thought he was a true Cowboy. A true Cowboy!! I can’t stand what Parsons has become. He’s become a disappointment and I hate the guy. Jerry Jones needs to trade this man NOW. He’s a toxic me me me first kind of guy and if I was younger, I’d give an uppercut!!!

He has all the talent and that’s why this hurts so much. I thought he would become a legend of this franchise. I thought his talk of taking a team friendly deal might have been true. You know what? I can’t believe I’m saying this but Jerry Jones is the victim in this situation. Parsons is entitled and it’s showing!

The only people seeing Jerry as a victim either hate Parsons, hate that he's going to get paid, and/or hate that any player gets paid what they do. The latter is why fans almost always side with the owners during player contract negotiations.

This is brilliant! And it shows how useless the NFLPA is. And I've heard many former players like Pat McAfee talk about how much they dislike the NFLPA. They have a union. They should use the union.

He was offered more money than any positional player in the history of football and now he wants to be traded. I would make him play on the 5th year and tag his butt twice. He wasn’t offered anything until the Jones actually present their offer to his agent.

Actually, the higher earners subsidize the rank and file players, because they pay much more in union dues. The guy making 840k pays $9200 in dues, while the guy making 10m pays 110k. They get access to the same benefits and protections.

Learn from this. Learn how to differ between twaddlers and real football players . Others could sense after 5 months that the guy is a fake.

This is the main problem this franchise has. Too many twaddlers whose interessts are not primarily into football. And this stems from the top. Our FO is the same and it attracts and likes players who are just of the same breed.

This now goes on for decades. From Romo to DFlaw, from Dak to Parsons. All twaddlers in the first place. With their primary goal on building their own brand to sell it to the casual viewer. All not so much into football.

Second problem is that there are way too many fans who fall for their behaviour. They alss have a lot of fear to make hard decissions after the behaviour of those players becomes apperant: "whoo remember when we had no QB", "hes a generational talent as a pass rusher" and so on...

But what all those players have in common is "potential". They all could be good or great. Problem is they never were or are going to be. So yes i remember when we had no QB and it was tough times. But right now we have just a guy who has potential and everybody waits now for 9 years that he finally lives up to it. So until that day its the same: We right now have no QB also. And its tough times again.

IN those cases you need someone in charge who is willing AND able to make tough decissions. All those players should never have gotten a second contract. Use their twaddling skills and trade them after their 3rd rookie seasons. Gather all those aquired picks and try again. What happens when you chose the other option is what you can follow in the last 25 years with this franchchise.

Bill Barnwell put out this very interesting stat, well at least I find in interesting: since Micah entered the NFL the Cowboys have the best defense in the NFL by EPA when he is on the field. Whenever Micah is not on the field, the Cowboys have the second worst D in the NFL by EPA.

This is correct. The Joneses are running the best defensive player in the NFL. With his great negotiating talent Jethro will get a 5th rounder in his trading Micah.
