Micah Parsons, you're a disappointment!

Hes a bad GM for a team thay he owns. Thats the problem. Bad contracts a plenty.

But Im on his side this time. Trade him and get the picks. We are not a Micah Parsons away from doing anything.

Future draft picks is what we need. Have enough capital in two years to move on from Dak.

I would like to keep Parsons, but trading him might be right for Parsons. Don't think he's winning a Super Bowl with us.

Is that what’s happening though? Negotiating without an agent present is not the same as negotiating with a 3rd party who has not been vetted and approved to do so.

I can’t see any way that negotiating strictly with the player would be off limits. You’d essentially have to accept that no player has ever represented themself and I don’t believe that to be the case.

(B PLAYER CAN REPRESENT THEMSELVES

Lamar Jackson represented himself.

I get the Jerry hate, believe me. But he did nothing wrong by talking to Micah directly. In fact, Micah could save some serious coin if he DID NOT use an agent.

When we drafted Parsons, I was overjoyed. I loved the pick and for a while there I thought we should build around the guy!! I thought he was a true Cowboy. A true Cowboy!! I can’t stand what Parsons has become. He’s become a disappointment and I hate the guy. Jerry Jones needs to trade this man NOW. He’s a toxic me me me first kind of guy and if I was younger, I’d give an uppercut!!!

He has all the talent and that’s why this hurts so much. I thought he would become a legend of this franchise. I thought his talk of taking a team friendly deal might have been true. You know what? I can’t believe I’m saying this but Jerry Jones is the victim in this situation. Parsons is entitled and it’s showing!
Fans always turn on our players…when they are due a big 2nd contract.

I am not sure I see any grey area. Micah Parsons is not self-representing himself. He is represented by his agent, David Mulugheta. According to Parsons (link):

“In March, I met with Mr. Jones to talk about leadership. Somehow the conversation turned into him talking contract with me. Yes I engaged in a back and forth in regards to what I wanted from my contract, but at no point did I believe this was supposed to be a formal negotiation and I informed Mr. Jones afterward my agent would reach out thinking this would get things done.”
Jerry Jones has not denied that the conversation took place. When asked about any deal with Parsons, Jones stated (link), paraphrasing, he commonly makes deals with a number, eye contact, and a handshake. I am assuming Jones used the same tactic with Parsons without Mulugheta present.

Previous and current players have self-represented themselves in contract negotiations, such as Richard Sherman and Lamar Jackson, with their clubs. The CBA does not penalize one-on-one negotiations in that regard. It does include language when the player is represented by an agent and is not included in any contractual conversation between the player and their club.

Well I don't see any grey area either so maybe I'm confused about what you were saying. I don't think Jerry has done anything to warrant a fine in this situation. He's taken a horrible approach and deserves every bit of what he's currently getting but I don't think he has broken any rules.

I dunno, it seemed like you were saying Jerry should be fined.

Micah didn’t choose to represent himself though. He has told Jerry to contest his agent. That’s his decision. So Jerry has to deal with it.

I do. In my opinion, Jones should not have started any conversation with Parsons that involved any rough details of a contract extension without his agent being present.

If Micah chose to represent himself while he has a league-approved agent, he basically needed to notify the league of his intentions to represent himself. That obviously didn’t occur.

Like it’s listed on Spotrac, Lamar Jackson OFFICIALLY does NOT have agent. Micah does.

I'm with Bob Hayes, Jerrah made this personal in public, and now some people are giving him the victim card...
The idiocy of defending Jerry after Jerry did this too is astounding. As if Micah should just shut up and be happy to be slandered which definitely affects his value. That Jerry and Stephen keep doing this too, then play all butthurt when a player finally retaliates and yet fans blame the player for defending themselves? Jerry and Stephen live for those kinds of fans. It's ridiculous. What other GM behaves like this? Why would any talented player in the future look at this situation and say "You know what, I want to play for Jerry"?

Settle down, Boomer.

The same can be said every year of every contract. The fact is he's under contract and well paid. If he wants to negotiate a new contract great but regardless he should be out there living up to his current agreement or he can pound sand.
Parsons is not an NFL Everyman. You have to let that sink in first.

You guys pretending like Micah is the dumbest person ever, like he can't do simple math or something.
Micah is smart enough to know he’s not allowed to negotiate his own contract. The moment he entered into an agreement with an NFLPA certified agent he forfeited that right. If he wants to negotiate his own deal he has to terminate the agreement with Mulugheta and inform the players union he intends to negotiate his own contracts. Lamar Jackson did it. It’s not impossible.

Jerry has publicly stated he does NOT want to talk to his agent - this is against league rules. So, he believes he has the right to not honor the rules the league and NFLPA have agreed to, but Micah should just fall in line. Makes no sense and it’s why he and Stephen are being skewered by most fans and the court of public opinion. And, their track record for the last 30 years DEFINITELY ain’t helping them…
And Micah is not allowed to discuss contract terms with Jerry. Both risk running afoul of the league and players union. And both can be penalized.

I agree that Micah is a disappointment.

But only a disappointment because he's a gossiping podcasting selfish one dimensional pass rusher who ignores every aspect of defense except his sole mission to rack up stats, so that he can maximize his profit even at the expense of the defense and team as a whole, and then dissappear completely in the playoffs (maybe because playoff stats don't contribute to ur official season stats so he just checks out and preserves his body.

But that's the only reason he'sa disappointment IMO. NOT because he's trying to get paid. He deserves his market value.

For sure Jerry made it personal.

But he is certainly not a victim he's a billionaire and owner of the most valuable sports franchise on the planet.
He may be about ready to teach Micah a lesson about who really has the power in this situation.

Jerry must finish the game he has started
