I've watched the first two episodes. It brought back some great nostalgia and reminded me of watching that team with my Dad week in and out.

I'm actually looking forward to how they (Jerry) explain what has happened over the last 30 years. I'm sure a good amount will be about Emmitt's record, the new stadium, etc. to deflect, but I want to see what the heck they were thinking personnel and coaching wise that destroyed this team and eliminated the culture Jimmy had built. How they wasted players like Ware, Romo, Owens, Witten, etc.

None of this changes my apathetic view of the team these days, but some sort of self-reflection by the Jones boys would be nice to see (queue belly laughter).

The end came when Jerry's ego got the best of him and he fired Jimmy. We have never recovered since. The closes thing to Jimmy was Parcells but he was not the same as 90's Parcells. Jerry went on to hire coaches that he could bully and neuter. IMO. That is how we have sucked.

I'm about halfway through, up to the 95 season. Surprised to see people not wanting to watch it. I would think any Cowboys fans would want to watch this. Jerry or no Jerry, those were some rare dynasty years. Even with Jerry running this place down, dynasties don't come around often, cherish the memories when you are lucky enough as a fan to get one.

• Ironic how Jerry talks about Landry being past his prime, because Jerry looks OLD in this documentary. At least Landry could still fly planes and was still fit.
• This is probably the first piece I've ever seen that actually tries to balance the Jimmy vs Jerry stuff. They get into Jimmy's controlling behavior that could lose players. They really get into the Jimmy vs Jerry stuff. It's like the cameraman goes to one of them and says "Well, the other guy just said this about this incident, what do you say? They showed some local press stuff that I never saw cause I had moved out of Dallas by 94. Could see the burnout in Jimmy's answers. But they also give him his props, and treat him fair. Looks like both Jimmy and Jerry are still on opposite ends of who did what like who's idea it was for the Herschel Walker trade. Jimmy says he had the idea while jogging with his coaches, Jerry says he had the idea because Tex advised him to, said it was his only asset to rebuild the team. You can see how they split.
• They do a good job bringing out the salesman charm of Jerry but if this is just about the 90's team, they need to focus less on him. One new thing I learned about him was I knew he almost bought the Chargers but I didn't realize he didn't buy it because he was about to accept a mafia deal from Teamsters and his father talked sense into him. LOL. The other new thing I learned was I didn't realize that Joe Avezanno and Butch Davis were undermining Barry Switzer the entire time he was there because they thought they should have been the next Head Coach after Jimmy.
• Too much focus on Triplets. Seen James Washington, Nate Newton, Ken Norton and Charles Haley gets some time, but then they turn to Deion too much for the 94-95 stuff. Haven't seen a single thing about Moose, The Great Wall of Dallas, Jay Novacek, that Defensive Line rotation, Darren Woodson yet. Alvin Harper gets some attention with his SF play.
• It figures they would have included him, but Skip Bayless is the main DFW media interview?
• 90's team reminds me of everything wrong with current choking teams. I would make a list 5x longer on all the things they covered that they realized could mean defeat or a playoff loss, and it's a list of everything our current squads do.

That's all this franchise has...the good old days. I can't look at the gremlin anymore so I won't watch it.

I broke down and began watching last night. I was actually pretty entertained. Maybe I was just bored, or needed to remember the glory days. Jerry hasn't grated at me to this point in the series.

For the record I'm not proud of myself for watching. I realize I have a problem.

I'd honestly be more interested in watching stuff on the last 20 years just because I want to see what is going on when they keep choking.

NFL Life on Tony Romo covered some of that. Guess I'll have to wait for the NFL Life on Dak Prescott. LOL

Watching him fumble with moving on from Landry and how he handled Tex Schramm was like a bull in a China shop.

It needed to be done, but it was definitely an early preview of how he'd manage.

We are still paying for his early successes. You can't argue against 3 superbowls, but it sets us back today. It reinforced his behavior and belief he's the smartest guy in the room.

From what I understand from about 20 seconds of research, Jerry isn't making money per view. You can go ahead and watch with zero fear you're padding his pockets. He won't even know or care you watched.

It's history. The good the bad and the ugly.

I am still debating with myself if I am going to watch it. I really do not want to hear Jerry Jones gaslighting us anymore. He is saying stuff just to be heard now I and I don't believe anything he says anymore.

But, I am sick of hearing that Emmitt Smith was not a great RB or that he was only successful because of the offensive line. For one thing. That offensive line changed players multiple times and he was great behind all of them. Emmitt was great in high school and college behind different offensive lines. Watch videos of Emmitt in his prime. The guy was an exception RB for years. Sure guys like Jim Brown, OJ Simpson, Eric Dickerson, Gale Sayers, Walter Payton, and Barry Sanders were great RBs too. We can't take anything away from them. But Emmitt was great for longer and he had the heart of a lion. It is so unfair to diminish his abilities by claiming it was his offensive line.

BUT...it will be weeks/months later most likely...when it doesn't count towards ratings for Jerry. I truly think Jerry should be treated like a pariah EVERY TIME he shows his Skeletor face in public. If Jerry was a 30 year GM with this track record he would be facing....you-know-what from the public. He wouldn't be able to show his mug in polite company. I've lived thru the Landry, Jimmy and now the present years. This was fantastic. Kinda rekindled my love for the Cowboys and oddly enough I'm liking Jerry again. He does at least try.

This group really showed you that was all nonsense! They dominated with a dynasty and rings! These players are arguably the best to ever play their positions!

Now, you got guys who can barely win a playoff game every three years.

It’s like Mount Rushmore vs. a child’s diorama.

That era was glorious!

The footage was so nostalgic from the non social media, espn infancy era lens in which the events occured. I'm on episode 2 or 3. It's AMAZING to witness the behind the scenes intensity and focus Jimmy Johnson and the triplets led with. Dynasty's are no accident.
