Look I like Parsons, I hold him to a high regard, but he is not top 5 in this league, he's a top five defensive player, maybe.

did you look at the top 100 He is not number 5.. I know a lot of people have opinions and rankings and lists, but Parsons is not top five in this league.

He's one of the top players and he's might be a top five defensive player, but there are a lot of really good players in this league quarterbacks receivers running backs that you would put before him that are impactful on their teams, including his own peers, like TJ Watt Myles Garrett, Nick Bosa , Trey Hendrickson, Maxx Crosby, some of the other young guys coming up with the pass rushing..

I get sometimes why people just blurt out hey he's top 5 in the league but really without thinking he is not...
He's top teir that's all that matters. Jerry needs to pay him and let move forward to the other problems on this team.

I haven’t hear any expert analysis that Parsons isn’t anything less than a generational talent .

If we have insider intelligence that he isn’t considered one of the premiere edge rushers in the league I’d love to see or hear it.

For sure he is but playing a hand in the dirt DE at his size isn't good for the career length.

Right . And top tier talents get paid market price. We knew this was coming.

Now, if we can’t afford him then let’s make a trade and move on. But expecting him to play for less than market price is ridiculous.

Micah fades away, I was thinking they were using him wrong but maybe it’s his choice of foods like those nachos.

Does he usually eat stuff like that or is he eating it because he doesn’t want to be in Dallas.
Stephon Gilmore already exposed micah for hus eating habits. Hes a loser. People can get mad at that fact all they want to

Parsons has talent backing him up, not just a name. If you don’t eant talent on the team, just say that.

I remember people on here begging for years to draft a top tier pass rusher... now yall don't want him because we wants to be paid like a top tier pass rusher.

Sit and think about what you want out of this team... be under the cap or a good team in running for a SB.
Yes, there's a lot of truth in that,

but please don't sit here and tell me you know the facts about the money the guarantees the fine points and language in the contract like years and other things, it's not just about money.

You know it's ironic,

most of these deals over the years have been done where players take top five money, and they're happy with it ,They get the best deal possible, it also helps the team, but in recent years with this whole nonsense phrase," I want to be the top paid skilled player in the league the top paid non quarterback in the league" that's not how it works..

I like Parsons but he's not top 5 player in this league he's in the top fifteen, but I bet we can come up with more impactful players than him ,but he wants to be the top paid non quarterback in the league is where the holdup comes in here.

His Peers would be you take the top five defensive ends in this league in his wheelhouse, and you find a happy medium, that a compromise...

That's not what's going on here because I'm even hearing some nonsense like well yeah at the time when he said he didn't need to be paid $40 million he didn't need to be the top paid non quarterback that's changed because the markets changed.

Really? How did his value change from March until right now? he hasn't played a game? If the number was around 38 million then, it should be 38 million right now, he does not need to be paid higher than Myles Garrett or TJ Watt Why those players were both Defensive player of the Years, those players that both have led the league in sacks.

Yes, his money should be in that area, but even guys like Trey Hendrickson that's holding out in Cincinnati had more sacks last year than Parsons, parsons have never had 17 SACKS...

When you're making this argument make it make more sense like real common sense, I get it he should be in that zip code and money but that would be 39 to 42 million why can't he take 39-40?

Lamb did it ,He took just under Jefferson and now he makes less money than Jefferson or Chase but is he complaining he's still rich he's still a millionaire he's still playing football he's still happy... Trayvon Diggs did his contract it was all quiet none of this happened He took top five money at the time it was number three he's still in the top five now..

but when you're negotiating that should be what's going on.. Not as months went by you keep raising your price and you keep asking for more than anyone else in your peer group. You don't need to reset the market and then he went back on his word and his agent is a big part of that This is an ego issue between the agent and Jerry and it's become messy because of that they want to keep changing things then we're going to keep starting from scratch and it's going to drag on and on and on...

Parsons is very valuable on this team he's a top five player on our team He's our best defensive player for sure but the insanity that you think he deserves to be 42 to $45 million player just because that's the market that doesn't even make sense in your own words he should be in the same area that means look at the top 5 pass rushers where do they make and he should get something at near the top of that..

It comes down to also the years the languages on what clause you want added no trade clause no franchise tag clause the guarantees the bonus money all this stuff has to be hammered out it's not just about the money....

If we can’t come to an agreement the time for a blockbuster trade is now. Not a year or two down the road.

His value will never be higher. Plus he could get hurt and lower his value. Or be on a bad team which could lower his production and value.

I am a fan of this team since 1976. Key word is the team... not the player. Dont get me wrong, I still pop out jerseys to wear when I go to the games, I love the player on our team that helps us win. Whats that guy's name... Michael Lawrence that went to Seattle....... dont give one damn about him. Emmitt Smith in Arizona... dont care about him.

So watching this Parsons thing play out and with the season right around the corner, how many of you are reaching the point where you just dont care anymore what happens with the guy?

I am 55 years old and I absolutely love the NFL. I play in 4 fantasy leagues (one is a family league with relatives on both coasts and includes 3 of my 4 daughters, my wife, son-in-law, and 2 cousins on the east coast and a couple of friends.... including that 4th daughters ex boyfriend) I will attend the home opener, the GB game 2 eeks later, and the Broncos game a month later. Sundays come around and I am in my movie room all day watching multiple games and soaking all the NGL glory in. I love it.

That being said, I am well aware that this team is much better with Michael Parsons than without. I wish he was signed and playing... well, when his back is well enough to play :lmao:. But, I did predict this was going to happen last year during the cee dee situation. I said then, if you think this is bad with CeeDee, just wait till Parsons time comes. Well, its here. Look at him last night lying on the trainers table, no jersey, pouting like a baby that isnt currently under contract and scheduled to make a hefty salary this year. So with the season about to start, what are your feelings heading into the season.

1) You are like me. I simply dont care. If he wants to play, play. If he wants to hold in, or out, or up or down... just do it from home. Because I want Winners! The season is starting, and I will enjoy it with or without the player.

2) how many of you just will not enjoy the games due to this contract situation. I will absolutely drive you nuts as you have to hear for the 20th time during the broadcast next week, how much the Cowboys defense is missing Michael?

Please give your thoughts. :muttley:
I feel no one player is above the team. So do I care about Micah? Yes. I’d like to keep him but I don’t want to cripple the team with another highly guaranteed market setting salary for a guy that shrinks in big games. I hope we sign him but if it’s a ridiculous contract, Ala Deshaun Watson then I can live without him.

What I am tired of is the constant soap opera, Dallas Kardashians reality show this franchise has become. Micah is just the latest episode and as the years go by it is getting harder and harder to care about the whole team when one player each off season is a new episode.

2024- Dak Prescott contract drama
2025- Micah contract drama
2026- Tyler Smith drama

He's top teir that's all that matters. Jerry needs to pay him and let move forward to the other problems on this team.
He's top tier but that's where the negotiations happened maybe you're losing sight that this isn't a blank check situation you don't get to write your own ticket you don't get to say this is exactly what I want i'm not moving off it I'm not compromising etcetera

Liberally that is not even what negotiation means. How about compromise yes he should get paid but if he thinks he's worth $42 million but I can think of many other players they have done more in their careers like TJ Watt and Miles Garrett both defensive players of the year both have led the league in sacks maybe I'm more than one occasion guys like Hendrickson also a pass rusher had what 17 sacks last year when the last time Parsons did that?

I mean there are other really good pass rushers and other really good players in this league he does not need to be the new market setting guy in that group that's the point So yes and then there needs to be negotiations if they feel that if his agent and himself feel that way dares to hang up they're looking for some compromise lamb compromise Trayvon did compromise they didn't get ripped off they are not the highest paid in their group..

Think that's what we're missing here he could take 39 or $40 million but it's also he needs to negotiate proper years and all the little fine points with clauses added and guaranteed money it all it's important that's the hang up..

Those who think his market changed from March till now without games played are clueless if you were right around 39 million back in March you can't be much off that now just because somebody else got paid more as long as you're paid top 5 at your position you're getting your value,

So, if he falls in the $40 million range instead of 42 or 45 or whatever they're demanding ,why is that a bad thing, just compromise both sides are holding this up that's my point.... Stop just blaming the front office for having an agent with just as big an ego and all these demands that you don't even know the details and you're just taking their side i'm not taking any side i'm saying compromise needs to happen for a deal to get done..

When they sign Parsons and this team continues to suck like it has the past 4 years with him.

When the entire team is Parsons, Dak, Diggs, CeeDee, and a bunch of bums that you're going to have to Google to learn about, just remember one thing:

MountaineerCowboy told ya so.

I broke down and watched the first episode. It was just terrific. Brought back a lot of memories and had some footage I hadn’t seen.

I loved the pieces about Miami with Jimmy and Michael.

What a great time to be a Cowboy fan.

Of course, I know how it ends, but the ride should be fun for awhile. :)

Obviously, the quality is top notch.

And I loved hearing The Ecstasy Of Gold, in full, as the background for the entire intro was terrific.

only thing in common was that you sadly missed him saying "give me your thoughts" I thought if anything you'd find that more amusing!! Carry on!! (Sarcam lol jk)
Well, I was referring to him and Jerry, not you and him.

You had already humbly pointed that out lol

At this point the Boys would be better off trading Parsons for a boat load of draft picks. Recreate the Herschel Walker trade with Parsons as Herschel this time around.

I'm further than that I ate the red pill. We have a good passrush we can get a DT and a couple of first I'm good with that

That’s never going to happen again. That era of the NFL was done and dusted over 30 years ago.

A couple of years ago, I was "this" close to buying his jersey. All the 'stuff" has really turned me off of this guy being what he could have been, and all this pouting and making an arse of himself passed out pretending to be hurt has put me overboard. As much as the disdain I have for Jerry is real, Micah is doing himself no favours by his shenanigans. As well, if he is legit hurt, sitting out and not playing is doing absolutely nothing for helping his case...in Jerry's eyes he should now be seen as damaged goods until proven otherwise

My money is on Jethro caving. Unless Parsons has made up his mind he wants out. And if that’s the case I’d pull the trigger now. Some team will give up several picks.

Anything beyond that forcing Parsons to play out his contract, tagging him etc is simply bad mgmt bordering on vindictiveness. Maximize your assets now.
