If we can’t come to an agreement the time for a blockbuster trade is now. Not a year or two down the road.

His value will never be higher. Plus he could get hurt and lower his value. Or be on a bad team which could lower his production and value.
I would like to know what these teams are offering. Can you imagine being set up to get Arch could we build around him?

Those guys won though. Winners get treated differently.

Everyone will be treated fairly, but everyone won't be treated the same.

Jimmy said that, right?
Curvin Richards was released in the final game of the 92 season. Emmitt got the rushing title in the 1st half against the Bears.
Richards played the 2nd half. Fumbled twice. Jimmy said he did not want that on the team. Do not be sloppy and concentrate. Cannot rely upon that kind of play in the playoffs.

John Roper was released after for falling asleep in a meeting.

Leon Lett stayed on the team after his SB gaffe, as well as the next year his costly mistake again the Dolphins on T-Day.
Lett did cause a key fumble and recovery in the 93 SB.

When Jimmy was asked about that, I can't remember his exact words. But something to do with talent has a lot to do with it.
So yeah he said something like that.

The longer this goes on the more both sides end up losing out. These antics no doubt will decrease his trade value for the team and his contract value certainly isn't going up with this kind of nonsense.

you said Kareem was a generational player..... I named the players from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s that I considered to be generational.

Then you brought in Kareem.... I agreed with you he was generational, BUT HE WAS GENERATIONAL TALENT IN THE 70s, I never insinuated or said he didnt play with magic... your comment was incredibly stupid saying I didnt even know Kareem played with Magic.
But Kareem was a generational talent in the 80’s as well.

Sorry if I misread .

He’s not even on Aaron Donald par. Like another poster said, peeps today freely give out accolades, on the whim.
I agree that those accolades probably were passed out prematurely. Nevertheless I’ve still seen many who Id normally trust use it like Aikman .

Well good thing we don't have to pay market price and can still keep him.
I can't wait until his deal hits those years like daks deal where the number is lik 89 million or something high like that, can you say RESTRUCTURE!!!

Well good thing we don't have to pay market price and can still keep him.
That’s assuming he’ll sign a franchise tag which isn’t cheap either. Remember Dez wouldn’t sign his Tag.

My hunch is if we dont resign him, he’ll probably sit out and we’ll end up trading him or caving . But Im still holding out hope we will get a deal done or trade sooner rather than later.

Holding him without a contract won’t create a good atmosphere for either.

I'm not super pro or anti Micah. He's a great player and he seems like a good guy but I do think he's immature, I don't like his training habits (so am afraid he may well not age well), and he's lousy against the run.

But I'm surprised this table thing is so upsetting to people. From what I read he only went over and did that for a minute. And is that so much worse than CeeDee and Pickens and Dak and others not paying any attention to the game and howling with laughter when the team is looking like slop and their teammates are getting destroyed by the Ravens?

No. You didn’t say that he is a generational player, but you seem to defend that notion.
Well, I’ve just heard more analyst , sports writers and other athletes say it more than those against so I’m assuming it must be truer than I’d even thought.

The only ones I’ve heard speak out against him are angry fans over his contract negotiations.

Just over the bs more and more
Not just with this franchise and its players but the bs of the “game” outside of the game in professional sports - **warning** back in my day rant coming up

Back when I was a young kid playing the sport and starting my fandom players played
Broken legs- missing teeth- scars - blood etc etc
The business side was there but in this case you had to wait for the paper and it was just done one way or another

Before I get flamed - I get it - players safety - health- they made Pennie’s back then for owners making millions

It’s the rest of this bs - I really don’t care if Micah or any player signs for $1 guaranteed or a billion guaranteed - I don’t care that our clown of an owner loves the drama and being in his eye a legendary hall of fame business tycoon

I don’t care that they hug it out or divorce

Just play the blanking game
Win games that matter
Be something more than just a freaking blogger page, sports show leading story to get clicks, hits and attention

That’s where I feel this NFL machine that has partaken in creating these results that allow this garbage to fill our minds and water cooler discussions - it’s not cowboys unique - it’s just the way this machine churns now

Long is forgotten the actual joy and pain of the actual game and stories / situations like this take center stage

So yeah - I’m tired of Micah - Jerry the whole lot of them

Old man rant off :laugh::banghead::popcorn:

Agree... I love football, not all this contract BS of multi millionaires fighting with billionaires. Or in this case billionaire agents fighting with billionaire owners. Couldn't care less about the espn and other talking head shows.

I'm not a big fan of baseball as a sport, but one thing MLB really gets right is they don't have this BS. Sure, you have your hot stove league in the winter, but once the season starts there is zero talk about money, contracts, trade demands, etc. The players just play and that's the way it is.

They have not played there starters all preseason. If they are not up to speed it will not be Micha's Fault
I'm not talking about games. Is he even practicing? If they don't play preseason, the only way to get to game speed is to practice at game speed. Is he involved?

Correct. He gets overrated because he's a Cowboy.

He better think long and hard about the endorsements he gets here.

Even if this is his agent and Jerry put him up to sleeping during a game, Parsons went to Penn State. So he should be smart enough to realize what the consequences are for that.

Right now, Parsons is a clown show. Clown shoes and all that. And I do think he's a bit overrated as a player anyway.

That said, the deal is done. They're just not doing it until game one.

And it'll be more than anyone expected.
I'm not trying to discredit how good he is he's really good I'm just saying some exa exaggerate a bit when you're saying he's top five in the league when I know I can name 10 or 15 players that have just a big impact on their teams before I get to Parsons.

He still is high level player premium he deserves a big contract but people got to stop acting like he's already at Lawrence Taylor Peak career.. You know guys like Reggie White and others he has not arrived there yet but he definitely deserves top 5 money in his group appears somewhere in there yes it's still around the same money we're talking but they may be overvaluing him at the negotiation table with years and clauses and guaranteed money and this is where we're sitting right now...

And like you said I don't think it'll wait till game one but it'll probably be sometime after cut downs, you know, before Friday,

I imagine around Thursday or Friday, gives them a week of preparation if it was going to happen that's probably the best time for it to happen....

That's because in baseball very few players don't respect their contracts. In the NFL there is constant whining about redoing their contracts if someone else gets more. It's disgusting.

No offense brother.

You could never run a team then.

Half these guys if not more are hurt all the time and play thru it. The other half get non contact injuries and end up on IR. It’s football.

Funny. You would take the risk of a QB who isn’t proven. But wouldn’t pay players.

So you want to build thru the draft and pay no one.

Gotta pick a lane man .
You don't understand.

I would be fine with paying Micah if we didn't have Dak, Diggs, and CeeDee on historical contracts also.

There isn't a GM in the NFL that could build a team around that, especially when 2 of them (Dak and Diggs) aren't worth anything close to what they're getting.

I want the Cowboys to be successful as a football team. I couldn't care less if Micah is successful financially.

Yup.

The problem is, we are paying players top dollar w/ holes in their game. Think about it: Diggs never was great at coverage. Micah isn't the greatest vs the run. Dak is immobile and there are questions about his big game play. And I like Lamb, but just don't think he's worth what he got. I could be wrong on that.
