Mafah to IR

Phew…almost thought we didn’t have a chance at the Super Bowl.

That's a good piece of roster manipulation there. Will enable them to keep more back than normal and will let them part ways with any of the older guys if they don't perform. Only drawback is as you know any vet on the opening day active roster is guaranteed his salary for the season. At least I think that's still
Brian Broddus said this yesterday. Even mentioned the “shoulder” . For those of you saying he doesn’t have an inside man, here ya go.

One thing I will say for Vaughan is his willingness to run it between the tackles AND to step into the path of an oncoming blitzer is admirable. There have been much bigger guys unwilling to do that dirty work. Kudos to him for that. I still think a creative coaching staff carves out a Darren Sproles role for him.. but I don't think that coaching staff is in Dallas.
Vaughan doesn't have the speed Sproles had or his power. If he gets cut no one picks him up. He would be really good in Canada.

Stashing him for 2026.

He wins the rushing title next year.
Stashing him for later in the season. Cowboys usually take a while to trust rookie RBs and a bruiser like Mafah could be most useful when defensive players are starting to wear down.

Ah, very clever, Cowboys.

Putting Mafah on the practice squad risked losing him to another team. Now he's guaranteed to be a Cowboy heading into next season when Javonte Williams becomes a free agent.
..hey, didnt recognize that tidbit, your right. They stashed him at Dallas workshop.

For new paint job, and rims.

This whole Javonte Williams situation is one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. One of the worst RBs in the entire NFL by every metric. Yet the Cowboys have been treating him like the unquestioned starter by keeping him out of the entire preseason.

They did the same thing with Zeke but at least I figured that was for Jerry to sell jerseys.

They can bring him off that list at any time I do believe. As long as they have a vacancy.

So you think he's a huge factor in the playoff run?

My concern is the comfort with Javonte n Miles. I don't think the Mafah move helps Deuce stay on the team. I could be wrong, but Williams, Sanders, and Blue is a trash RB rotation.
Very trash.

You'd have thought after last year they'd make sure to have a better RB situation but not these geniuses.

Remember, Jerry the personnel guru said it was the line not the backs that were the problem. As if it couldn't be both.

Williams as the starting RB is pure garbage. It will be no different than washed up Zeke.

Bummed that he can't play for a few weeks, but glad that at least they aren't risking exposing him to waivers.

I expect Phil to become even more popular the next few weeks as Williams and Sanders spare it up big time.

So, when did he get hurt? Friday night?

Or is this fake so we can stash him?
