1. I don’t get the Cowboys “need” to keep two retread RBs on the roster that probably no team besides the Cowboys covet. Keep one? Great. Keeping both doesn’t make sense.

2. Leupke is a versatile player. But he’s only worthy of a roster spot if the Cowboys ACTUALLY have a plan in place to play him.

3. It seems almost unanimous here in CZ that we need help at DT, and this place literally agrees on almost nothing ever. So just MAYBE we should add a DT to the roster?

4. If Diggs and Rookie corner cannot play game 1 this team will need someone to really step up or the Eagles might put a 50 burger on us.

5. I do not understand the Cowboys refusal to:
A. Get a QB to push Dak. And
B. Solidify the DT position.

Got a fifth for a sixth in the deal, which the teams have since trade back to each other. But Philly unloaded a contract they did not feel was worthwhile.

Yeah they don’t think he was worthwhile two years ago and saw how bad the safeties were just to go back to him. They will miss him.

As fanatics we don't get a heck of a lot of what is going on in Jerry World and never will. Stop trying to understand and just go with the flow.

They made three trades before cut down time because despite being defending champs they believe they have holes. Teams don’t get to the Super Bowl thinking “we like our guys”.

You are so right. You make enough trades you are bound to make some clunkers. Every team has high draft picks that are busts - its just the nature of the business.
The one thing I like about Roseman is he can admit it was a mistake and move on from those guys. Jerry's ego won't allow him to admit he made a mistake. So we are stuck with - WE LIKE OUR GUYS

Love flournoy but if I'm honest, I thought brooks easily beat him out. Nothing flashy but very workmanlike, trustworthy, good hands. Great teammate. I hope we stash him on the PS. Holden I feel could have been a slot wr with ample opportunity. Mingo should have been cut instead. Like Mingo but not enough to cut Holden.

Holden is my pet cat this season. Hope he gets on the ps. Brooks looked good too so hoping ps for him as well.

 

[Reality]

He was drafted and remained on the active roster of an NFL team for two years when most teams would have passed on him completely or maybe put him in on a practice squad for a while.

That said, the Cowboys are at a point now where they may want to keep him but cannot justify it with all of the holes they are dealing with.

My guess is they plan to sign him to the practice squad if he clears waivers.

If another team signs him, then I wish him well.

I feel like I am living in Groundhog Day. Two years hearing how they want to be physical and the. See them enter year two as a botttom 5 rb and DT room (and that is being generous). They just can’t be considered a serious franchise. I hope I am missing something and I am totally wrong. History is on my side though.

All those words by Shotty wanting to be physical and this is what they give him. Hollow words.

I'm glad the Cowboys have finally cut Deuce. He clearly wasn't any kind of player the Cowboys had any interest in developing or using properly. His time under McCarthy was a complete and total waste. He deserved far more than he was given. I hope he doesn't end up on the PS.
