You normally don’t get second opinions unless you don’t like the opinion the first doctor gave you. He was cleared to practice by Cowboys doctors. Why would he want to get a second opinion unless he didn’t want to play? He had all offseason to get his back checked out and he sat around. You cannot possibly believe that he has back issues that would prevent him from playing.

It is clear that he wants to fake an injury in order to still get paid because he doesn’t have the guts to hold out and not get paid.

That's not the kind of player we need on this team

I don't know if you went through the late 80's years with Steve Pelluar or the Campo years with Chad Hutchinson, Drew Hensen, Anthony Wright, Clint Stoerner and Ryan Leaf.

In all, we Cowboys fans have been very lucky when it comes to our quarterbacks. Even the one we criticize right now has been a two-time Pro Bowler. The perception of many Cowboys fans when it comes to the quality of quarterbacks is somewhat distorted,

In 2003 Quincy Carter had the second most votes for Comeback Player of the Year. His numbers were better than half of the league's 75 quarterbacks that season.

I realize that the most popular QB rating does not take into consideration many of the game circumstances. Still, it uses a formula that combines completion percentage, yards, TD percentage and interception percentage.

In 2003, according to the rating system, Quincy Carter had better numbers than:

Look, I'm not saying that Quincy Carter was a good quarterback. However, I have seen poor to awful and the fact is, Quincy Carter started every game in a season where the Cowboys went 10-6.

I'm obviously not using the typical Cowboys fan HOF standard here. When I say "average" I mean average.

In 2003, the average QB rating in the NFL was 72.5 and Quincy had a 71.4. He was literally average.

A second opinion is common practice in many aspects of life.

I get three estimates before I commit to major home repairs. I don’t just trust the first one.

Completely different scenario. He had all off-season to get his back checked out. It only becomes an issue once he’s cleared to play and is contractually obligated pay or risk forfeiting his game checks. He is simply looking for a way to not play and still get paid.

Players are not claimed to practice squads. They are free agents that choose where they want to sign.

He has literally nothing to lose. If this was a SB bound team, he would have something to lose.

That is not this team.

The same thing happened to Dak twice. Does anyone recall this drama back then? No because there wasn't any.

It only became an issue when Dak had the no trade clause and they could not tag him anymore.

Kudos to Dak’s agent. He got the no trade/no tag clause in Dak’s contract. It was pay Dak or lose Dak for nothing but a 3rd round comp pick. So, $60 million. This is Mulugheta’s 1st contract he can negotiate on Micah’s behalf. He has to use whatever means possible, and legal, to compel Jerry Jones to pay his client what he, and apparently Micah, believes is appropriate.

How that makes him a bad guy I don’t know. If Jerry Jones is fine with the situation he has in deference to Micah fans will have to accept it. Micah has little to no recourse. I’ll never believe he’ll play as well as he could if he does not get the extension he’s looking for. So be it. It’s not that good a team anyway.

How could you at the very least noy wish Deuce future success? What did he do to you? He's was a low cost, low round draft pick who had college success in spades. It hasn't translated for a myriad of reasons. Is it because of perceived nepotism? A Jerry pr move? A progress stopper? Be upset with Jerry not Deuce for he did nothing less than any fan on this board with the opportunity presented before him would do. I'm happy Deuce got released and hope he catches on somewhere no matter the league and sees success.

Man, if running the ball was all the position required, sure, Deuce could make it.

Too short, though to block or be very effective as a receiver in the NFL.

If Micah’s back was an issue that would prevent him from playing, why is he waiting until a week before the game to get a second opinion on it?

Using your brain and context clues, is it possible that the reason why he wants a second opinion on his back is because he is contractually obligated to play in order to get his game day checks? If he has a football related injury, he would not have to play and still get paid. Do you think it’s possible that he has a financial interest in having a back injury?

100% and Micah has little leverage outside of playing games to withhold his services. He doesn't want to miss out on his 24 million which is more he's ever been paid in a season. The soap opera continues!

Tomorrow should be interesting with practice for week 1 set to start Friday.

Im hopeful we have a conclusion, but ultimately I think all we're gonna know is if he's playing week 1.

If we don't get him signed tomorrow he's coming back to Dallas with a doctor's note.

I can imagine Jerry taking this as a show of poor faith and reacting accordingly. All of the talk of him playing out this year and being tagged goes to crap with phantom injuries.

If players had guaranteed contracts like they do in baseball I’d agree with this. But teams will dump a guy the first chance they get if they think it’s in their interest. So I can’t really blame guys who are always one play away from never playing again to try to get paid when they can.

Its cuts both ways. They do get massive portions of their contracts guaranteed and often not live up to expectations. History is littered with Albert Haynesworth type players.
