Still a ton of talent at the edge position!

I would say there’s more potential than talent.

We’ll notice a huge difference without Parsons.

QBs will be able to roll out right and hold on to the ball longer.

It will feel frustrating, especially at first.
The hope is that they are more balanced and some of these players take that next step

EZ has just been thrown into the fire. They need him not be able to not be blocked one on one. I would love this defense if we kept Parsons and traded a second rounder for Clark. Eberflus is a good coordinator. He should have a good game plan. Hopefully Mazi learns from Clark and can actually do something by the end of the year.
Better interior play should also help the edges. Certainly these young prospects have to prove they belong

You know what this reminds me of

Washington offloading their prize D linemen……their fans hated it but they understood it

Hopefully we put a team together with the loss of Micah

I'm not sure if the Cowboys will add any more DL's this year, but I wouldn't. They have plenty of bodies and why not see what they can do. Start looking at who they want and can plan on in the future.
Agree, give them the chance to seize the opportunity before making any additions

A ton of question marks. Kneeland, Williams have done nothing. Eze is a unproven rookie. Houston was on the street. Fowler is the talent for now the rest is potential, at best. The "hope" these guys turn into a good group, but they have to grow into recognition. Now, interestingly, the DT position is talented and imo will lead the DL in production. As a whole, I'm encouraged about the potential of the DL, so don't get me wrong.
Have your own way to have perspective but I'm telling you right now how in the heck did Dan Queen get to a championship game using our backups and Armstrong and Fowler as their primary pass rushers give me some info and tell me how the Cowboys aren't deeper and better it's about scheme it's about team pressure.

Cowboys are far deeper right now than Washington was last year and you're over here crying about how everyone came off the street and they're unproven they used our backups from 2023 to get to a championship game and one of them are back here now now what.

Fowler-is coming off of a double digit sack season with the commanders
EZ-is considered one of the most ready edge players in this year's draft. Coming off of a 16.5 sack season.
Sam Williams-might be the most physically gifted on the entire team, but hasn't put it all together
Houston-is a veteran with a 8 sack season under his belt. He dominated in the preseason games
Kneeland-more of a run defender coming out, but he reportedly is starting to become a better pass rusher

No doubt, it is going to be harder for this group without the attention Parsons would receive, but it doesn't mean they don't have a legitimate pass rush.
there is depth, not really high end talent. fowler is a stop gap player now having been on different teams the past 4 years. if he was that talented, he would stick around.
Williams is a selfish player, who is often out of position and committ dumb penalties.
Houston was good in preseason, but if he was really talented, he would have been retained.
Eze is uknown and if preseason is an indicator for Houston, then Eze didn't look good at all.
Kneeland is a run stopper at best.

not a lot of high end talent. some depth. they are all average to slightly above average. not all of them play at the same time.

this is a very meh group. add the DT and LB issues and I can't see them being anything special or that good.

Side note. Why didn’t the Cowboys just send Parsons home while they try to find the best deal for him. I just believe a “Cleveland “ type of team would have given us a Godfather deal if Jerry was patient.

Did Houston not come off the street? Is Kneeland, Sam and Eze proven? Go ahead and tell me how good they are. Armstrong was a vet with years under his belt, on his 3rd contract last season, Dude shut up.

Again tell how proven they are and how Houston was a street FA.

Can I have whatever you people are smoking?

Our defense was soft and horrible last year... and then we removed the one player on it that was most feared.

Our defense is going to SUCK

But sure....live the fantasy of Sam Williams for 5 more days while you can.

Duece Vaughn will be the next Barry Sanders too. Oh wait...he was cut, because he sucked. So Sam Williams is taking his place in Fantasy Land now?

Number two backups that were starting for a championship team enough said...NEXT

Nah, Did Houston come off the street, and is Kneeland, Sam, and EzE as proven as Armstrong was last season?

Not doing this i'm saying Washington used two backups and got to a championship game we have one of their players back and I say we're deeper and I say we're better next It's funny how this works my opinion versus yours but the fact is Armstrong was a backup for years and then became a starter and Fowler was a role player that became a starter and they still made a championship game with a weak not so deep edge room that's the point they don't have the edge room we have..
.

I'm sure Armstrong was not proven until he was and yes Houston had a better start to his career than Armstrong go look I don't matter if he's on the street no matter where he came from it matters what he can offer Unless you see that and you don't want to you're this upset parsons is gone and I'm telling you we're OK...

He took a dude that had six sacks and made him a starter you took a role player in Fowler and made him a starter There were your bookends imagine how weaksauce the rest of the room was to have those two as starters and you're mocking our depth?!

I feel pretty confident the group we have will offset Micah’s one career postseason sack

I will tell you how, their offense was great in extending drives and controlling the clock

This merely pointing out they had no elite pass rushers that used our backups on defense and still made it to a championship game people acting like we're void of talent on edge or we're going to have a problem creating pressure and somehow they're giving Dan Quinn credit for building a great edged room no they weren't they're our backups.....

But in fact is back here now but now he's no good Fowler's no good that's what people are trying to say as a starter he was their starter on a championship team....

I mean I get what you're saying but Washington is not going to be successful if that's how their defense keeps ending seasons in the playoffs just like ours we blame Dan Quinn Maybe this is why you get rid of your best pass rusher and you get a better nose tackle and you start creating pressure from everywhere even if it's not from an elite war daddy it's better to have a group effort that can't be taken out by taking away one player..

Again I'm a Parsons fan I have his jersey but I see the argument on why they got rid of him and why it doesn't mean that we're gonna be worse without him...
