A new Jerry Jones

Uhh, except for the sincerest forms of fandom which involve major elements of both. The mix can be more one than the other with justification and accuracy.

Example, a fan can say that we have the hope of a 20-0 season and be accurate in our analysis of this hope. We can rationalize the fact we ain't lost any yet.

While insisting this must indeed come to pass because, well heck, its been 30+ years and we are due, might pass as hallucination, those feelings, those personal internal visions of raining TDs every game, as the dedicated committed deep-core fan knows, is the fun part of the delusion of fandom.

Fandom is socially acceptable insanity! Embrace the crazy!

The Jerry you described in the beginning of your post, he hasn't been that guy since 2014 I think. He went from the gambler to the conservative reformed gambler over a decade ago in regard to team building.

That's not why he did it. I won't pretend to know exactly what goes on in Jerry's head but culture is not the reason.

Weren't you just arguing no one would give up multiple 1st for Micha because of his contract? Like, adamantly arguing it too. The salary cap era bla bla bla

Im not sure id buy into your takes. 100% dead wrong.
 
I don't know if Jerry has radically changed.
What I do know is Jerry's an old school guy and when somebody agrees on something and give him a handshake he expects them to honor the commitment.

He gave Micah a completely legitimate offer and Micah behaved in a disrespectful manner all the way around from faking an injury sleeping on the table during the game and not wanting to honor the commitment he shook hands on.

Jerry is a billionaire and flat out does not have to take that crap from some 25-year-old punk kid who makes his bones in garbage time against bad teams and disappears when he's needed.

So yeah Micah got sent to the NFL's version of Siberia and can conduct his podcast and businessman like career up north and freeze his behind off good riddance

Absolutely. Never thought any team would pony up two 1’s for him. In that regard I think the Packers were more than generous. In the long run I think it will come back to bite them. In the short run I think they may make it to the Super Bowl and the Cowboys are coming in last place. No sense pretending.

Jerry does not have the kind of organization that can take full advantage of multiple firsts. I know it, you know it, everyone here knows it. There is no kidding ourselves. He’s an NFL GM, but he’s bad at it.

He did and I applaud Jerry Jones for pulling the trigger on this trade but he could have done this much earlier and his position of strength would have been much better with more trade options and better return capital. Just saying. Go Jerry!
 
Some keep falling for the same old lies. The only reason Micah isn’t here is because it got personal between him and Jerry. Just wait until you see who we use those draft picks on before you say Jerry has changed. And Jerry's too old to change anyway.
