Good question. I can’t imagine he would be that lost. Maybe they simply called that defense and forgot or failed to substitute. Was it intentional or was he lost?

It has to be a collective effort. No doubt it will be more difficult due to his the attention Parsons was getting but this group is capableThat's why I don't get the hype around WHAT WILL WE DO without Micah!!!! Simple more guys opposed to just one will get pressure, guys have to step up
Stop with he is a walk in hall of famer, generational talent. Let’s not get into the annoiting oil out just yet, 1 career playoff sack isn’t hall of fame worthy at this pointAll Hall of Famers. I’m sure of it.
Problem is with Parsons we weren’t getting the chance to rush the passer too often as teams were constantly in short yardage situations cause they couldn’t survive the early downs. Go re-watch the packer playoff game, watch the bills destroy us without needing to passIt is, but rushing the passer without having to use extra rushers usually means you have to have someone who can consistently beat his OL opponent one on one. Parsons was so good at that that offenses had to give him extra attention, which opened up opportunities for others to get to the QB.
We may be better against the run, but that certainly doesn't mean we'll be better against the pass. I would prefer to be good against both. IMO, Parsons' play against the run is being magnified by those who want to downplay this loss. He is one of the premier players at his position and some want to pretend like he's not now that he's gone.
They are going to have to have a plan with him on the early downs or they will have the same issues as the cowboys enduredHere teams figured out to run the ball right at Parsons but I'm sure GB isn't paying him to be a great run defender. They want him to hunt the qb so if he makes a tackle here and there then it's a bonus.
It's not my point I'm saying if Fowler and Armstrong is their best defensive ends that they had why are we so worried we have a deep room there plus we can create pressure from elsewhere..Which Cowboys are you referring to that were starting for championship teams?
Fowler? Who else?
We also have very athletic LB's. With a stronger push up the middle, that will also translate into more sacks.Fowler-is coming off of a double digit sack season with the commanders
EZ-is considered one of the most ready edge players in this year's draft. Coming off of a 16.5 sack season.
Sam Williams-might be the most physically gifted on the entire team, but hasn't put it all together
Houston-is a veteran with a 8 sack season under his belt. He dominated in the preseason games
Kneeland-more of a run defender coming out, but he reportedly is starting to become a better pass rusher
No doubt, it is going to be harder for this group without the attention Parsons would receive, but it doesn't mean they don't have a legitimate pass rush.
That is the point. We also have very athletic LB's. With a stronger push up the middle, that will also translate into more sacks.
Bottom line if you can't stop the run, how many sacks you get is irrelevant.
Bring back Dan Quinn and I'll buy into that. His style of defense does a much better job of getting 1v1s for his pass rushers and setting those guys up for success than Eberflus who is more vanilla drop 7 beat your man type. It's not my point I'm saying if Fowler and Armstrong is their best defensive ends that they had why are we so worried we have a deep room there plus we can create pressure from elsewhere..
You're instantly better up the middle probably improved in the run game and we can find our pressures from the room we have that's the point If they can use Armstrong and Fowler as starters why are we crying here they didn't have a Micah Parsons on that team and Fowler still got 10.5 sacks....
Football is a team sport. Difficult to win when you don't play it that way.Bring back Dan Quinn and I'll buy into that. His style of defense does a much better job of getting 1v1s for his pass rushers and setting those guys up for success than Eberflus who is more vanilla drop 7 beat your man type.
Fowler is a career 1 sack per 50 pass rushes and 1 pressure per 8.8 pass rush guy.
Parsons is a career 1 sack per 31 pass rushes and 1 pressure per 5.2 pass rush guy.
This is the issue with the math of replacing Micahs production with multiple players. Just because you have more players doesn't mean you get more snaps in. There is a reason Micah is making $40M+ and Fowler had to settle for a 1 year $6m deal this offseason when 32 teams could have bid for his services. Very good rotational player, but not someone you want actually starting for your defense.
Its also really hard to win when you don't have top tier players either. If players are not playing as a team that's typically more of a coaching issue than a player issue.Football is a team sport. Difficult to win when you don't play it that way.
No, it's not when your supposedly best player/leader only wants to rush the passer. Its also really hard to win when you don't have top tier players either. If players are not playing as a team that's typically more of a coaching issue than a player issue.
Sure it is...If Micah Parsons really went as rogue as the rumors suggest he should have been taken out of the game or faced some sort of consequence. If he completely refused to clean up his act the owner/GM probably should have looked to trade him earlier instead of offering him a contract extension at $40.5M.No, it's not when your supposedly best player/leader only wants to rush the passer.
He was and sent to Siberia.Sure it is...If Micah Parsons really went as rogue as the rumors suggest he should have been taken out of the game or faced some sort of consequence. Yes, after the extension wasn't accepted. I don't have a huge issue with them moving Micah, but lets not pretend that the Cowboys didn't want him back.He was and sent to Siberia.
Yes that is our point, I saw a graph the other day that we led the NFC in Sacks last year, which I don't know how we did that, I think it was 52 ,That is the point.
Everyone just looks at Parsons pass rushing abilities and never bring up that is he part of the problem why the run defense is so bad. He has had a few seasons to become a more discipline run defender, but chasing for sacks is all he seems to care about.Yes that is our point, I saw a graph the other day that we led the NFC in Sacks last year, which I don't know how we did that, I think it was 52 ,
but 26 of those came from other sources, not the defensive ends,
so more than half our pressure was created, I think we have a better defensive end room for the edge plus I think we're deeper at linebacker, and we have some safeties that can do both..
I'm not saying it's going to be good or great or we're not going to miss Parsons, but people think this somehow just became a dumpster fire and because of Parsons not here that it's over the season all hinged on him.
I also find that ironic that he was part of some of those disasters on defense I am blaming him but he was here for those big losses in the regular season against better teams and in the playoffs that debacle ironically with Green Bay at home he was on the field was he not...
Yeah, that's why I keep posting and I don't want to keep doing it but Robert Quinn has a 102 career sacks he's had a handful of years that were either as good or better than sack production from Parsons and nobody talks about Robert Quinn getting into the Hall of Fame..Stop with he is a walk in hall of famer, generational talent. Let’s not get into the annoiting oil out just yet, 1 career playoff sack isn’t hall of fame worthy at this point
Playing for the Cowboys certainly boosts his stock as well. Time will tell, let's see how Parsons plays with his new team.Yeah, that's why I keep posting and I don't want to keep doing it but Robert Quinn has a 102 career sacks he's had a handful of years that were either as good or better than sack production from Parsons and nobody talks about Robert Quinn getting into the Hall of Fame..
Hate you premature I know they're slightly different players but when you really look at it are they??
