A new Jerry Jones

The Jerry you described in the beginning of your post, he hasn't been that guy since 2014 I think. He went from the gambler to the conservative reformed gambler over a decade ago in regard to team building.
Yep, right after the kid talked him out of Manziel instead of Martin he seemed to take on more of a say.

I recall thinking what a great thing that was…and they haven’t participated in free agency since.

If you provide facts, then you don't verbalize them and they go swoosh over everyone heads. Don't expect respect, when you don't give respect in kind. Jerry Jones is not the Dallas Cowboys, so I'm confused in how you are saying I am disrespecting the Dallas Cowboys. Jerry is the biggest problem the Dallas Cowboys have. He's become even a bigger joke than Al "Need for Speed" Davis was. This is a forum, a place to express ones opinions. Explain exactly, what facts you posted when I just gave my opinion about Jerry? Be honest, and a man, and just admit it was just a shot and a bunch of self praise of a post.

At the Air Force Academy I had to learn the code: I will not lie, steal, cheat, or tolerate those who do.
Try it and be fair to the Cowboys. I learned real world loyalty at an early age and paid my price for 24 years.

I won't except nothing short of respect for my service. Especially if respected because of paid for values.

I spent 17 years in the Post Office. That is 40 years of governmental service. I played linebacker on two Bowl worthy teams.

I remain respectable. I give respect but don't walk away from intended insult and stupid ridicule.

Don't like what I post, stay the hell away or contribute. Labeled a fake and unworthy of my opinion, then one better get ready. That is anyone on site.

Don't like me or stating merit about the Cowboys, tough. Stay away. At least thank you for communication on what you were seeing. It wasn't on target, although. I add a bunch of humor someone over loads his own mouth and repeats it...purely on attitude.

XD #69 is basically a cut and paste from an article on a website. I'm not going to categorize that as you posting football facts, as in a contribution that you actually did to a discussion. The plain simple truth is, that most people on this site post football opinions, and then we have a few people on here who say they posts facts when they don't even know what a fact is. There are people willing to contribute different amount of effort in posting their opinions on the site. Someone who is real great at it for instance would be Bob Hazes, who puts together well written posts and knows how to get to the point. As for the "Don't like what I post, stay the hell away or contribute," well it wasn't me who sought out to reply to you and take a personal shot and then fall back on a crutch about demanding respect for being a vet.

I provided points and as rules say, referenced proof. Not just attitude you develop yourself.

I post opinion and from personal experiences. I played football from high school, through college, and 19 years on company teams. You are off mark again. I was an NCO and carry the marriage between and responsibility for those beneath myself for 19 years, beside the Reserves and a Cadet at the Air Force Academy. I was an instructor at the Armor School for 10 years. I am well aware of undeveloped perspectives. I even earned an Instructor of the Cycle, Soldier of the Year at Fort Bliss, Tx and was on the assigned detail to protect the body of Omar Bradley prior to his passing away. He was the last 5 Star General from World War II. This merely states the demands behind concept selections. Team discipline is not my problem. Discipline standards I am trained to respond to. The severity of paying for loss of focus has been a major problem that too often created game changers in the 3 seasons of 12 wins.

As to references, in writing, one is always encouraged to prove your case with more than one's sole perspective. On your limiting measure of just an evaluation, that has extensive examples. This again is your prove it this way and no reference to the actual information. I'm not in a popularity contest with any one. I have plenty of opinions not only observations. Those aren't hard to find. I post something to be used and if a quote, it is a chosen element to be added for understanding. I judge the statement and not who wrote the reference..

Fact is fact and I trust references more than relevancy provided by convenience of preferrence conveniently used.

Bob Hayes does a hell of a lot of work. He sometimes adds things to just insult Jerry and not really to the degree being handled now by the organization by the franchise. A skill that was demanded in service was accountability and monitoring of those beneath oneself and accountable for persons career progression. How that is working is not shown on site. That is prejudice and another observation tool removed. Dallas does a lot similar actions to their advantage as well.

Bob Hayes is not naive on this. I don't dumb down for effect. Detailed such as used by organization needs to at least be understood.

I believe in the Cowboys. I say so and will discuss that and not try to defend style continually. I don't play around with team function.

What you are referring to is my response insult and continuing not on the actual point that I make. I attempt to discuss football. After a personalized insult enters and continued no matter what was raised...no, I'm not going to suck butt to be your preferred mood here and now. Don't believe my message, comment on the football message presented.

I have survived quite well in my own path in life. I love the game and the Cowboys I have followed since Day One.
I don't have a separate Landry period and then just a Jimmy Johnson period. Sorry, no thanks.

I expect respect for values chosen. If you devalue a person for any reason, having served, however one attempts to define that. if you can't handle the reasons stated here and the basis of organization....that is bias and a personal insult. If that is how you handle the truth, leave me out of you descriptive and personal insult stating standard comparisons involved. Then don't even waste my time. Talk about my actual response - if personal attacks are the message...go to hell I have more than a television or concert enriched life.

I support the Band Aide culture developed trying to feed the children of the world from starving. It's needs and real values that count. Not a 30 year old wrinkled calendar. My POINT.

Post #69, what facts does it provide in reference to the premise of the thread -- that this trade is an example of a New Jerry Jones turning the page of being a bad GM to being a good GM? All I see is a link to an article about the player we got in return besides the draft picks, about his coach praising him, which is something coaches do, even if it is just out of courtesy. I got nothing against the player, but you are saying you are posting facts, where is the beef? It is still my opinion that this whole ordeal was because Jerry broke the rules that you don't make contract negotiations public. There were no facts posted to the contrary. Anyone, can read articles on the internet and post them, and most of them provide very little facts and the vast majority of them are opinion based. Coaches don't usually disparage their former players out of professionalism, they might like the player, since most coaches are good people, and then the legal liability of doing so. For example, if you ever are in management and an employer calls you about a former employee you listed you as a reference, whether they asked you before hand or not, There is only so much you can say for legal liability. That would go doubly so if you did a trade with the cowboys and you trade a player to them and you tell them good things, and then you tell the media something else. Not saying, that, that is what happened here. I am just pointing out such words from a coach in an article like that, you have to realize it only means so much.

You are always quick to say other are off mark, and then you make presumptions about others, when you really don't know the other person. I don't want to be rude, but I don't care about anyone's personal background history and that includes whether they served or not. I tend to treat everyone initially the same, and gain respect for them based on the contents of what they post. I tend to treat people I don't know with respect, but when people disrespect others in debate, I have no problem giving them back the same level of respect. Things used to be more civil on the zone, but then you had a group of people labeling others as haters and such for not having the same opinions as they did about a certain player. Obviously, people who trash on others shouldn't expect the same level of civility as those who can debate others and be civil about it.

There are some topics where there is less factual based and more opinion based. For example the premise of this very thread. The article you linked to didn't really provide any facts on whether Jerry is becoming a good GM. Observation of Jerry past two big moves, where he waits too long to do a deal causing him either to overpay for a player who got injured right after the deal, or to get less than he could've in a forced trade of a LB, seem to suggest otherwise. For example, if Jerry meant to trade Parsons all along, then it would've been optimum to do the trade earlier on with a team where he could of got more from, considering that Greenbay will probably get to the playoffs and now they will presumably even do better than otherwise. But then we hear that Jerry made an offer, so that wasn't the case, which means he should've made the offer much earlier than the last minute before the season starts, kinda like he did the Dak contract negotiation. This line of logic all seems to indicate that Jerry has not turned the page and deserve the reputation of being a bad GM.

Bob Hayes does a hell of a lot of work. He sometimes adds things to just insult Jerry and not really to the degree being handled now by the organization by the franchise. I pointed to Bob Hayes, because he has my respect, and I think I've always been civil with him even though we are not always on the same side of the argument. Same goes for DieHardBlues, probably the most unbiased poster on this site. The difference is, they can debate others without making things personal.

I hope Musk has a way to upload Jerry Genius's mind to AI. He would still be able to coach the team after he passes. Get it done, Musk, we need Genius Jerry forever running the team. Go Cowboys. Can you say Super Bowl in 3999?
