How is it we are a bad team that cannot afford to sign our best players and then you have a great team like Philly who has talent all over their roster and they can afford to pay our best players? I don’t get it.

They aggressively manage the salary cap. The bill does come due. They lost some significant talent because they paid Baun and know Carter will be signing for $40+ million AAV in six months.

I don’t subscribe to the “Roseman is a genius” theory. But his profession pre-NFL was an accountant. He works for an owner that trusts him. The Philadelphia Eagles will come crashing down to earth soon. The Cowboys bigger concern, outside of the game tonight, is Washington and is that quarterback going to be as good as he’s looked so far. Neither Dallas or Philly have a QB like that. And not likely to find one anytime soon.

Obviously Jerry Jones’ primary concern is not building a team that can compete for a Super Bowl. Perception is everything to Jerry. The Eagles just won a Super Bowl. Just take the best deal. If Green Bay wins it this season it will be much more embarrassing to Jerry than Philly winning again. A missed opportunity if the report is true.

It really doesn't matter because even if Jerry were willing to trade a star player to a division rival (and that in itself is highly unlikely), the Eagles are considered one of the top teams in the league and adding Parsons would only make them better, so their first round picks would likely be low every year.

Teams seldom trade great players to their rivals because they are afraid to be wrong, but I would have no problem trading Parsons to Philly. Philly has a loaded team at OL, DT, RB, WR, and a young QB, but when you take away first round picks that prevent them from controlling the salary cap with good players on rookie contracts and saddle them with a contract like Parsons signed, they’d be loaded this year, but then you would gradually see star players being allowed to leave because they cannot pay them. As with GB, trading away so much for a star player and giving him a huge contract is going all in for a short window.

No way Jerry would have traded him to Philly or Washington after they both played in the NFC Championship game and Philly won the SB.

I wonder if the Ravens made a call. The pick/picks would have been very low 1st rounders, but he would have been out of the NFC.

I would have rather taken the packers deal.

Eagles two firsts are more likely to be later picks than the packers (nobody knows for sure but I think).

I think Clark as a quality starting DT is worth a late eagles third rounder.

The 5th is kind of a throwaway pick anyway. Generally.

So if the reported eagles offer is true. Jerry chose correctly in taking the packers offer. IMO
