Schottenheimer: Blue has to be more consistent to play in games

This.

Blue > Sanders
Flournoy > Tolbert
Liafau > Murray
James > Sanborn
:hammer:

These coaches are showing they are not too bright. Throwing games away because they are afraid to go with more talented rookies than old has been JAG veterans.

That's just an excuse the coach made up for the media. Blue was dealing with a tender ankle, and the coach wanted to give him a little more time to heal before making his professional debut.

If true, why not just say the truth, Schotty? Why make your rookie RB look bad?

They will either ease him in like when we are way ahead or use him to try and come from behind.

I think they may use him against New York. Just a hunch.

These coaches are showing they are not good enough. This stuff should have been fixed by now. Had all summer, minicamp, training camp and preseason to get this fixed. Still need more time now into the regular season? What are you getting paid millions for?

I think they looked good as well, but long-term I’m not sure you can just rely on Javonte. He should’ve been the spell back to a stud imo
May end up being Javonte, Mafah, Blue...that was my ultimate prediction. But Sanders has stuck around. And I think they want to bulk Blue up.

Meanwhile, Turp got a carry at RB. I'd like to see him get at least one a game, but potentially like 3.

Mafah is a proven workhorse just like Tahj is. Both run in the 4.5s. Similar college work production and ypc average. Difference is size. Mafah is 6'1", 225 lbs, while Tahj is 5'10", 220 lbs.
Running styles are different. Tahj has way quicker feet and gets to his top speed faster IMO. He is more elusive and won't get caught in the backfield nearly as often. I like Mafah ok but I think Tahj will prove to be a better NFL back.

I've always said it could take Blue a bit to get up to speed, bulk up, etc. Needs to gain bulk in his lower body and all that.

Needs a cycle or two of peanut butter.

They've had success with Williams. Malik Davis could maybe work too.

This is typical Cowboy crap.

Like Jason Garrett not wanting to play Felix Jones.

Like Tony Pollard sitting on the bench when he was clearly better than Zeke.

Dallas is notorious for playing bad RBs over better players.
The situations you’re mentioning are different than this one.
Blue is a guy who had 214 attempts in college, issues picking up blitzers, and was a fumbling machine.

Are you that confident he would immediately improve the team as a rookie despite his potential for mistakes?

Although I’d still rather have him on the roster over Sanders.

I do think Blue could play some receiver reps from the slot. That's CeeDees spot. But I'd have 3-4 plays with Blue in the slot, personally.

Maybe give him a few carries next game.

I think the issue right now is he may be on the verge of not being physically prepared with his body, particularly lower body.

That said, this guy can play. No doubt in my mind..
