Jerry is still trying to rationalize the Micah trade

It’s constant mismanagement and misevaluation, with no real multi year plan.
This x 1000 and then some...........all their problems are covered right here. Year after year, after year.......it's ALWAYS SOMETHING ( head coaches, elite players' contracts, free agent acquisition, retaining old vets too long)

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on the Micah Parsons trade: “We’re going to be getting players in the top 30 (draft picks). We’ve got two years of getting Green Bay’s top 30 player. And that should do some damage for us. And then we add that to the picks we’re going to have anyway, and that should do some damage."

“Now, by the way, in between that time, there are 30 other teams other than the Cowboys playing without Micah, this week. There’s ways to play defense and scheme that don’t necessarily involve any player, whether it be Dion Sanders, looking way back, or who it is, a lot of people won a lot of games and didn’t have Dion Sanders on the field for them. How’d that happen?"

“That’s called, you got to have about, minimum, 40-something players to play this game. Between being available with a nick or an injury, plus at the same time, just availability from the numbers of snaps in a game. You can’t go out there and rush the passer for 60 plays a game at all.

“My point is, all of this weighs into the consideration, and it was so much thought out over the last months that we needed an opportunity to see if our trade was there.”

Trading Micah was initiated way before he asked for a trade.
Beginning to think Jerry is panicking. I think he knows he has messed up

I agree with quantity.........but we need to hit on each player AND either win Super Bowl OR deep postseason with them making a huge impact.

Drafting 2 out of 4 players not worth the 5th-year option won't cut it.
If we do draft later in round 1 I think there is more positions that aren’t necessarily premium positions but you can get an elite guy at.

Positions like Corner, Safety, Linebacker, maybe a Right Tackle or RB.

You’re right, but they were also several players away when he was here on his rookie deal and refused to add them. It’s constant mismanagement and misevaluation, with no real multi year plan. It’s a year to year reactionary thing.

Micah Parsons should have been either traded or signed a year ago.

I do agree with your point, and at least there’s a chance to parlay the picks into more, but they aren’t going to spend the cap savings on outside players….as they should to maximize the return on the trade. They will overpay who is already here, and rely on draft picks, most of which don’t pan out, and they overrate.

So, even if they DO manage to create a situation where they are in an open window, they will blow it again, just as they did in 2021-23. They should have been doing everything possible to win while Parsons and Lamb were on rookie deals. They chose the opposite, and lost every time because they didn’t have enough horses to overcome the fact that Shanahan and LaFleur are miles better than any HC Jerry would ever have.
No doubt the front office has messed up this roster. However, they do have a chance to fix their books with this deal. Two controllable contracts at the very least and added a solid starter at the fraction of the cost of resigning Parsons. Question is, will they use these extra cap funds to improve their roster in fa?

Yep. You for sure will be able to get a safety or linebacker….maybe even the best in the draft.

This guy has completely lost it. He actually threw the one name out there that landed him a super bowl without Jimmy. Lol, you can't make this up. Funny how he mentioned Green Bays gonna be picking 30ish but he never mentioned us picking early teens again.

That's one way of looking at it but if those several players are rookies who could take 2/3 years before you get any major impact, then what. Coz 2/3 years we likely facing tough decisions on Lamb and Dak and maybe could other key players. Not to mention perhaps new coaches ( Schotty signed a 4-year deal through 2028).

Just seem Jerry is always in the middle of halfway rebuilding .........signing major pieces but ALWAYS missing key supplement pieces. What's crazy is that supplemental pieces can be filled fairly cheaply, but he chooses to bottom feed.
Think we all agree, they should of started a full rebuild after that playoff loss to the Packers. What this trade does do is speeds up the clock on Dak. They can get out of his contract in 2 seasons, with the extra draft capital that would put them in position to draft his replacement.

However, I do not envision this. Think they are going to move forward with this group and add to it. 3 impact pieces could improve this roster where they could actually compete.

Why on earth would he say that lol?

That’s right you don’t. You trade QB’s who are not generational but are paid like they are. Last offseason we could have gotten a bounty. Now would that mean we are trotting out a Bo Nix, or a Joe Flacco even right now? Sure. But we would have Lamb and Micah to fill the gaps on both sides right now….

I do not even know who you are ........ but keep defending Jerry lapdog.
Then your dumb label makes absolutely no sense. So you go around labeling people without even knowing them? I'm all for labeling, just use the correct label. :)

Agree 100%.........playoff teams do it all the time. Hell, how often do we hear about their 1st picks becoming impact players? One reason I think is that you are not going to take as a risk drafting that low. There's a good chance you could draft the best or 2nd best graded player at one of the positions you mentioned.
