Without stopping the run, wouldn't matter who we had rushing the passer. Saying we have no pass rush isn't accurate as well, we among the league leaders in pressures against the #1 OL in week 1, they just struggled finished against a tough, mobile QB.

It’s this and the fact that they handled the cap poorly. You cannot build a team around stars and bottom level talent, need quality role players to be successful

We traded Micah and his contract cost for Clark, two first round picks, and their contract costs.

If you don't talk contract costs when evaluating player trades, you shouldn't be allowed at the grown up table.

Too early to tell how this works out. Dallas could draft 2 studs with those picks, or 2 duds. Time will tell. Problem with all of this is Jerry has no plan as GM. He just flies by the seat of his pants.

I mostly hate that he traded Parsons to Green Bay.....a team that has owned Dallas for damn near the last decade.

Parsons doesn't even play that much. He mainly plays obvious pass downs.
On run plays he's just there.
He was credited with 2 assisted tackles.
And he wanted how much?

He averaged 1 solo tackle per game during his time in Dallas.

That is Jerry the negotiator there on full display, forcing a trade when he wanted to sign the player. A good GM would of either made the deal a year or two ago, if they wanted the player, or they would've started negotiations for a trade much earlier than right before the start of the season to get more of worth out of it.

I agree, especially since Parsons didn't even want top dollar. Either way, whatever the decision was to be, it should have been over and done with by the draft.

Jethro is just trying to control the narrative cause he mismanaged this negotiation.

If his intent was to trade him should have placed out to highest bidder back before the draft and we would have received much more including additional picks to help this years team.

But he was hoping he could stave off Parsons demand to become highest paid defensive player. And just let him play out his final season and then possibly franchise tag him. He thought he had the leverage.

But what he under estimated was players like Micah ultimately have the leverage simply cause of their talent level. And once Micah saw Jethro didn’t apparently have the desire to meet his demands then he asked for the trade.

And once Jethro realized Micah was going to sit out was when he bailed out seeking a last minute trade. The fact we still received 2 1st and a starter punctuates the level of talent. No telling what we could have received when teams had more to offer like additional mid round picks and or players. And possibly to a team in AFC or not the immediate SB contender the Packers are.

Sure , the picks we received could turn out to help us. But those picks are going to be very late 1st rounds, almost like 2nd round picks . And the likelihood we draft someone at that slot as good as Parsons is slim.

Maybe by 2027 having an additional late round 1st will help bolster our roster but even 2 years out we have to develop . No reason to think that late 1st pick will be a day 1 impact . And that’s assuming we hit and not bust like we have on some in recent years.

And all of this doesn’t even take into account what losing Micah has on this years team and beyond.

Still seems like a lot of money for a guy who doesn’t play half the time defense is on the field.
He’s a pass rushing specialist.
