Donovan Wilson was what was wrong with the Cowboys Secondary vs the Giants. He was solely the reason for those bombs for TDs. Donovan Wilson was repeatedly caught looking at the QB, instead of making sure to stay deep and not allow any opposing WR get past him. Very simple. Yet, over and over and over, he failed to do this. He has done the same mistakes over recent years.

Check it out...

At this point, Donovan Wilson needs to be benched. If he is not benched, the problem is the coaching staff going forward.

What do you fans think is the problem and what needs to be done to fix the pass defensive woes?

He is bad, he is not a ball hawk safety. Matt has him playing out of position.

Is this what he said or what you think?

I noticed a couple of times during the game where Wilson seemed to be ignoring the outside guy but I did not realize it was that bad.
Diggs was telling him what was coming and he still went to the middle to approach the tight end versus getting on his horse and going backwards toward the endzone. He did this twice -giving up two deep TD's. But once again-Matt!!! This team has NEVER played zone well on defense. Let alone rushing only 4 without Parsons out there.

Wilson..IMO...Low football IQ-at least in zones. Feet of clay stuck in quicksand-response. But I blame Matt!! Wilson needs to be in the box. Not virtually playing free-safety. Eberflus!!!!Get it together.....This isn't Chicago!!!
I'm not even sure he is a good box safety right now.... I saw him get bounced off saquon and skattebo trying to tackle them... weak... for the love of football can we be blessed with a budda baker or derwin james soon??? OSU safety is pretty close so hopefully we will draft him.

Football 101. Don't let the WR get behind you and leave your CB out to dry.

Sit him for at least a game. That will send a message.
I honestly think the issue is beyond him sitting for a game, unfortunately. Even if he tries to do the right thing, he cant flip his hips in space and keep up with the WRs. Not to mention reading all of the routes developing in front of him. We have 4-5 years of film to prove he's poor at this.
He's a box Safety that at one point earlier in his career not bad covering short/intermediate zones and playing some Man on TEs. Asking him to play deep in zone coverage is defensive suicide. He's making a lot of money so we know how that goes in Dallas, but I'd give Juanyeh a shot.

I like this guy breaking down film. He's good at pointing out what was supposed to happen before seeing that it didn't happen.

But can we talk about those balls Russell Wilson put on target that deep? Must be nice, lol.

Zero excuse for that.......especially from a vet.

I would argue Wilson is more of a 2-down player. It's clear he's a liability on passing downs.

The corners is whats clearly wrong. Corners need to stay with their man and it doens't help that we don't have a pass rush. Wonder why we can't get to the QB anymore?
