Sanborn just is too athletically challenged to be apart of our nickel defense. I understand he knows the scheme and rarely makes mental mistakes, but he is always 2 steps behind and struggles badly in space. Move him to strong-side backer in our base defense and limit his snaps to mainly against the run.
I do not know what to do about Murray, he flashes sometimes, where other times he completely is too slow to react.
Marist/James will have some growing pains and make a few mental mistakes, but they have the athletic profile to handle coverage responsibilities and both are effective blitzers. I think they are going to have to throw these two out there and live with their mistakes.

All I know is if he don't get this fixed and it looks the same against the Jets and the Dolphins this might be the fastest firing ever for Jerry on a first-year coordinator or coach... Seriously I'm already having nightmares you know how this defense has been with a true mobile quarterback that can throw the deep pass that definitely has a wide receiver target that can catch it and a multiple option RPO running back We've had worse lightness defense up and this is what we're about to see with the Jets who are winless so the Cowboys are going to be favorites right..

I mean this is gonna be a nightmare this literally is gonna be a test have you learned anything from the Eagles game and if you watched they didn't do the exact same thing but there was a reason all those screens bubble screens and little tosses out to the edges the edges of our defense were done even by the Packers they know you can't run easy up the middle on us anymore but they are tearing our edges up..
wheres the blame? is it the linebackers is it some of his safeties and linebackers is that the corners won't come up and hit ??
I believe most of Matt's defenses expects his corners to play physical and right at this point ,I think it's a all the above are not hitting their assignments out there..
I am curious if they're gonna rush Revel or Butler back or even Carson they're all available to come back next week for next game meaning this week they can practice they can be moved up IR but then who do you move off the team?
What if Matt sees someone out of those three guys that he knows can run his corners better or make one of them a safety I mean I can see Butler Carson being converted to safety or at least in some nickel...

We're brought over by him in the offseason to do what you say the run is defense but it's not working but why isn't he fixing it now they did increase Liafu playing diamond yes I agree even though he made a mistake you keep him full time and I don't even know if he knew that ball hit the ground The way he stayed aggressive on that play I believe he didn't realize that the ball wasn't caught I mean all the rest of them been caught LOL..
Yes, James he made a lot of mistakes he wasn't in very long but I know he made a missed tackle.... I believe on that 18 yard touchdown but that's also his guy he drafted him he moved up to get the guy..
so anyone who says this is the players and not all the DC and that he can't go out and play for them that might be true sometimes but this time he's being a little too stubborn and moving some of his guys off the field and playing some other guys..
I think when Overshown comes back it should absolutely be 80% of the snaps to Liafu and Overshown that should be the dynamic duo but we don't know when that's going to happen...
. I think we can all agree Liafu just basically should be the full time starter he has the energy and the aggressiveness to go sideline to sideline he punches at the football he's just physical I don't care if he makes some mistakes he needs to be the starter at one of the positions at linebacker....
I mean in the end how how much worse can it be just put the guys in there that you know our physical play fast and aggressive and I'll let them make the mistakes at least they're probably going to make some big plays for you eventually..
