RIP John Lodge of the Moody Blues

John Lodge, the bass guitarist and vocalist for the Moody Blues passed away suddenly. He was 82. He joined the Moody Blues in 1966 and stuck with them until they stopped performing in 2018.

They were one of my favorite bands at one point. Snubbed by the rock n roll hall of fame for years until they were finally inducted in 2018. Lodge was one of the integral members of the band, along with Justin Hayward, the lead guitarist and lead singer.

RIP John, and thanks for the music and the memories.

It is hard to watch these recent clips. It makes me feel so old. The last time I saw them in concert they played in a little theater in Morristown NJ. They looked mature but not old. That was late 1990s or early 2000s I think. In this clip, they are old, like me, and it is a stark reminder that time stops for no one.

I guess it is because of my age, but I do miss the music of that era.

The music from that era is great but I find the music from this era better.
