You do realize that he is allowed to lead the team down the field to score points right? This pathetic defense got you a stop and you then proceeded to lose 12 yards on the first two plays of the drive and then put this sorry defense back on the field. 10 years of the same old stuff on this.

The alleged 'best offense in the NFL"....puts that nail in the coffin. An alleged MVP QB...drives that team down for a TD.

He looked fairly comfortable all game didn’t really get hit/sacked. On the goal line he then fumbled the ball for no apparent reason. Dallas had to settle for 3. For the rest of the quarter he had happy feet despite having plenty of time in the pocket. He didn’t use his legs , didn’t throw anything downfield.

On our last drive Dallas got the ball on the 46 yard line and Dak checked it down 3 times for minus 12 yards. On every single one of those plays he looked like a deer in headlights. No more MVP talk. I don’t care what the stats say, he was off when it mattered most.

I want to ensure I understand the argument. Dak needs a very good to great run game and a good defense to win? He’s not expected to take advantage of game winning opportunities and he also should make $60 million a year? If you want a great running game (which he’s had most of this year) and a good defense you can’t pay the QB more than anyone in the league. When you do that he’s expected to carry the team. He doesn’t and they have a losing record. Like I’ve said over and over any serious person isn’t saying Dak is bad. It’s that Dak isn’t consistent and doesn’t have the tools to be great. At 30-40 million a year (in today’s market) that’s fine. At 60 million he better be great essentially every game. He beats up on the Jets (which Tua did too) and craps with the game on the line against the Panthers. He is what he’s always been. Opportunistic against bad defenses and crazy inconsistent against good ones. It’s year 10, if you are hoping for different after 10 years in as Bill Parcells would say, “you’ve been sucked.”

Well, I wrote two posts trying to get an explanation of what Dak did wrong on the final three plays on offense, but no one has an answer, so I’ll move along and assume that this thread just became a bunch of arguing and name calling by posters who don’t like each other.

I get that the pass protection broke down on second down and Dak tried to throw it away at Williams feet to avoid a sack. I also get the 1- blocker screen to Lupke on 3rd and 22 as a give up play call to pick up yards and punt them down deep.

But I don’t understand Schotty’s screen pass call on first down. I get why he might be expecting a blitz since we were already close to FG territory, but we hadn’t had a successful run or pass on the perimeter all game. Not one lineman was out there to block…Carolina didn’t let them out.
