Sure, he will be in consideration, but if the team doesn't make the playoffs and the D ranking stays as it is, he will still not win it. Every other guy on that list will likely be playing for a playoff team, and it's been about 50 years since an MVP came from a non-playoff team.

Drake Maye has played the softest schedule in the NFL to date and it will continue with Cleveland, Miami and the Jets twice still remaining.

The last time the NFL MVP did not make the playoffs was in 1973, when O.J. Simpson won the award despite his Buffalo Bills team missing the postseason. Before that, the only other player to achieve this was Johnny Unitas in 1967, also winning MVP without making the playoffs

It doesn't work that way. The team needs to have a great record. Joe Burrow played his butt off last year and wasn't more than an honorable mention. Plus Dak's not performing like say Mayfield.

The playoffs make no difference for MVP. And there are plenty of people who knock Lamar for his playoff games. Although last year wasn't his fault. Home field for the Bills killed him. Andrews was frozen and Lamar was suffering to overcome the cold.

Agreed.

As a Packer fan with no dog in the hunt, I'd say Dak is playing better than any QB in the NFL, though it is close with Baker and Daniel Jones, and he has a much worse defense -- though that also means he has to constantly score (like in the NYG and GB games).

Hard to win MVP if your team does not even win its own Division, however.

Anyway, suffice it to say #4 in Dallas is playing really, really well.

I'm thinking this also........IF he stays healthy, continue playing at the current high level AND get at least ONE Lombardi, he gets IMO. Maybe not first ballot, but def gets in.

If Dak has a shot at MVP this team at minimum must win 7 out of the next 10 games. That won't be easy, but if this defense can turn respectable there's a shot.

The good news about our D is they can’t get a whole lot worse. The worst defense in franchise history so nowhere to go but up lol
