And on top of that???? Who cares if we stop the run if your defensive coordinator is married to a zone defensive scheme that gets picked apart by 2nd string QBs...

Valid point. This doesn't solve the coaching issues. Nor the outside pressure. But I guess I look at it like this. We haven't been good lately at drafting defensive players. This kid is a stud and it isn't likely we draft someone like him. More likely we draft another Mazi. While everyone wants to swing for the fences and shut down the season for next year...Jerry isn't going to do that. So I would rather have talent on the team than not.

They probably wanted to but the cost of two 1sts would have made getting Williams impossible. Dallas was able to keep a 1st in 2027 and that probably made their decision easy.

All it will do is push our draft pick from top 10 pick to top 15 pick. That is the only thing I can get from this trade. Jerry can not possibly believe this team is a few players away from winning it all.
