2025-26 NBA Season

If Mavs season continues this way, just tank it. Trade away Kyrie and AD. Get yourself lined up for Darryn Patterson. That's a great future with Cooper Flagg and Darryn Patterson. It will take a while with both guys getting drafted at age 18, but has potential to be one hell of a duo.

Mavs 3-8, Spurs 8-2. Fire Nico chants echoing throughout the American Airlines Center.

The Mavs lost so many fans that will never return after the Luka trade.

But there is a larger group of disenfranchised Mavs fans that might come back if Nico's head is on a platter (career-wise, of course)

Sounds like is coming

Mavs will be fine, you'll have to deal with some rebuilding years just like the rest of us. But you have some good trade bait, and a real shot at Darryn Patterson. FYI, if not following the draft, everyone is comparing this kid to Kobe Bryant. Him and Flagg together, you're set for life. As long as you don't hire another brain dead GM who trades the franchise players in their prime. At least you guys can fire your GM, we're stuck with Jerry on the Cowboys and his franchise wheeling and dealing.

Spurs will take AD from you Mavs fans if he'll re-do his contract. Between him and Wemby, maybe we can get a big man out there all year.

Elephant in the room with Wemby is can that body take the damage? Everyone remembers how Yao Ming's frame just gave up on him. Good news is I'm reading this is a minor issue, and more out of reaction to some of the players who ended up with worse injuries after playing through bad calves.

I wonder what the trade value for Davis is nowadays. IMO that Mavs need to strip their team for assets and concentrate on building around Flagg. If they are smart, most of Davis, Irving, Washington, D'load, Klay and Gafford are playing elsewhere by the time the deadline passes
I read that if he wants his maxed out extension into his late 30's, no team is going to offer much, and I agree. Great player... when he's healthy. Gotta figure all those injuries though are going to catch up now. Maybe they find a sucker like the Nets when they grabbed Pierce and Garnett in their very last years, but right now Mavs looking like that sucker.

There is always someone willing to give up more than they should if they think a guy can give them a real chance

PJ isn't eligible to be traded until after the season because he didn't sign his extension until September but even then he's only 27 and on a friendly contract. I'd keep him around. I'd probably keep Kyrie around for another year to mentor Flagg a bit but other than that, yeah, trade em.
