Brian Schottenheimer is an Elite Head Coach

I think it'd safe to say we are not being outcoached. He's putting the team in great positions to win (excluding maybe the Cardinals game, which he has really improved from). He's trusting his QB. He's calling mostly great plays. He's managing his time-outs brilliantly.

It's nice to finally be able to say that we have an elite Head Coach in 2025. Who'd have thought that we might actually have the best HC in the division at the start of the season? Even if we don't make the playoffs this year, I currently have full confidence in Schottenheimer in 2026.

Hillarious, and if we win next week all of a sudden Eberflus will be the best DC in the NFL. Then if we run the table Jerry will be GM of the year.

C’mon man, it’s a little early in the game to be throwing around elite. Once he gets a couple of SB titles under his belt then he can be considered an elite HC.

He appears to do well with personnel and the players. His play calling could be better IMO. But he hasn't been doing that, at least with these players, for very long. I haven't heard too many people going off the rails about his clock management. And we do seem to be better at scoring before and after the half. Makes a difference when you're trying to mount a comeback after our typical slow starts.

Now he has to convince them that they can lose against any opponent. That's been an issue for a while. We have guys on the front 7 of the defense who don't seem easily intimidated. I didn't see a lot of guys turning their backs while attempting to put a shoulder into the opponent. That drives me crazy.

As ridiculous as this defense looked for the majority of the year, you’re spot on, the talent just wasn’t there. Between injuries and a lack of personnel moves, the cupboard was bare.

My biggest issue with the Micah trade from Day 1 was that we swapped our top defensive player for future earnings — on a team led by a 32-year-old signal caller. The Williams trade massively leveled the playing field in terms of putting talent back on the field now. Hopefully the help just didn’t come too late.

Execution is very harsh, but I agree sometimes it's the best solution. Or were you talking about something else?

He was going to the checkdown sooner before the entire defense knew it was the only possible option.
 
so many are clowns. Mccarthy won 12 games 3 years in a row ad he sucked. Schotty is 6-5-1 and he is ready for the HOF.

Lol, I mean in terms of executing the plays to beat the other team, as opposed to coaching errors costing the team games.

Well, outside of Tom Landry he's the only Cowboys Coach I met personally, but I did when we both were kids. I at least like him for that.
