RELEASED Cowboys have released cornerback Trevon Diggs

He’s not gonna get picked up
Bet? I think some teams will buy into the fact that they believe he was underutilized disgruntled still can play man limited role or not he could be added to a playoff roster and maybe give them a few plays there's some dudes with some back ends that are in trouble in the playoffs like Green Bay and Philly Or maybe he goes and plays with his brother in New England who knows i'm sure there's some options he is healthy now technically..

Maybe some team will see this as a really bad defense he was on which would be true but give him some kind of pass for the way he played because of the way allegedly the team treated him the defense he was in the scheme I mean think about it somebody's gonna buy into that hype they've brought in worse players to add to their playoff rosters to add some depth than possibly him.

Or this is a side deal that Jerry made I'll release you early so you can seek a new team early but now you get on Green Bay or Philly and you do something purposely to help them lose..lol:muttley:  ..

That’s why I am confused at people saying they are happy for him.

Happy he can possibly get a ring this year.

But he went from 15-20 million a year over the next 3 years each to likely making a 2-3 million per
Exactly

If he's picked up, plays lights out this year, that would mean he was playing possum all year. Purposely submarined us. Nothing he does would shock me. He's no victim.

Roy Williams the WR comes to mind for me.
I'm talking about in recent history... I was going off the list that people were talking about not going that far back every team is made a bad trade like that every team I mean talk about bad free ages and stuff even Howie Roseman does it I mean look how bad of a free agent over payment and what not for Brian Huff that kind of thing it happens they have made bad trades teams pick too high in the draft they make bad free agent decisions this is not just Jerry you guys are ridiculous...

But yes Roy Williams I mean Joey Galloway was a little bit better but they were really looking for a receiver and they were a little bit desperate they probably shouldn't have passed up on Randy Moss and I don't know if my timeline is right but they were trying desperately to make up for the loss of Michael Irvin and the very bad decision that Jimmie Johnson made on exposing Jimmy Smith, the wide receiver they they sure could have used them at the time and none of that stuff probably would have happened It's kind of odd but yeah even Jimmie Johnson made bad decisions when he was technically the GM and the mastermind behind the roster there are plenty of them...

Sometimes Domino's fall like that teams get desperate there are teams like the Giants that look for receivers including even the Eagles and now the the Eagles can't find a good back end look they they reach when they're desperately looking for a position that they seem to miss on for five or 6 years in a row then you're going to make a misstep somewhere you act like he's the only one in the league to ever do it....

How in the world did you think the Cowboys even built the 90s championship team they robbed MN with the Herschel Walker trade..

Also do you remember the dumb thing the Saints did with the draft pretty much gave up two drafts for Ricky Williams and I love Ricky Williams I mean I did but you remember the whole Ricky Williams in a wedding dress I mean this that was a terrible idea it was bad moves and you act like the Other things that ,I can think about just off the top of my head bad moves in the NFL mostly with quarterbacks I mean you remember Magicowski that went from I believe the Packers which might might happen again with Malik Willis but he went to Seattle and did nothing I mean literally bad moves are made all around the NFL all the time...

Remember that team that paid Was it Haynes worth like $100 million as big as contract at that time ever to a knucklehead and it never developed was that Washington II don't remember but I know Washington ended up with him but I'm just doing this off the top of my head no Google no search..

Gonna end with this because people keep talking about Trey Lance look Trey Lance the mistake was made by the 49ers they traded up they used three first rounders on Trey Lance and yet Cowboys you're right about the 4th rounder they gave up for him and now he's getting another chance look this is just the league nobody's perfect but I know everyone hates Jerry, that's OK,

so they're gonna only point out to act like he's the only one that does things like this...

And I'm just going to end with the same thing we started this conversation on the only one that seems really bad in recent history was definitely Mingo the dude has nothing to offer he can't make the field when he does he looks lost a 4th rounder in the middle of a lost season that's what makes it worse they did this at the trade deadline for no reason it was it was unnecessary... gave up a fourth for a bad player at a time where it was unnecessary...

If it were me working as GM, I would have shut him down and put out a report that his injury still needed time. Let him have some "positive" reports coming out of camp next season and then traded him for what I could get.

I can't worry about this move. Sure, it's typical Jones BS to not get a return, but let's be honest, this isn't anything close to the "2021 Diggs."
He's fallen off and went from looking like an elite All Pro to looking like Anthony Henry toward the end years.

Plus, I don't like players that avoid putting a hit on a player.

Trevon Diggs has a 156.3 passer rating allowed this season, highest among corners since 2020!!
To put it in perspective, of the 620 corners since 2020 with at least 20 targets, Diggs ranks dead last.

Why even make this public? I don't understand. This organization has like zero sense when it comes to GMing. If you want to get rid of the guy, you don't go blasting it publicly and then letting him go. You go around and shop him and at least try to get a pick. Maybe you say he's not a fit with what we're trying to do with our defense or something, and then you go to organizations who need a CB and try to get SOMETHING.

He was literally graded as the dead last corner in the league so anything would be improvement
