Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on his message to Cowboys fans who are concerned that the team’s front office can’t turn this team around:

“It reminds me of the old gold miner out in the 49er days of the gold rush of San Francisco. And that old broken down gold miner, he’s got a bad back, his hands have so much arthritis from swinging that pick. And he’s sitting out there and he’s just picking on rock, and nothing’s happening. But the most sure way for nothing to happen is for him to quit picking. And so you keep swinging the pick.

“Now, from the day we’ve become involved here, we said we’re going to swing the pick. That hasn’t changed. But we’re sure not going to quit. And I’ll assure you that I’ve been in many things in my life, including times with the Cowboys, that that type of persistence breeds the kind of results our fans want. And that’s a winning football team.”

More of the same. Maybe he needs to change how we pick. Who does the picking. Lol

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on Dallas’ culture: “Frankly, Mike McCarthy had a good culture out there. But we wanted more. And we thought (Brian Schottenheimer) gave us the opportunity to do it.

“… I like Schotty’s atmosphere. It’s energetic, it’s enthusiastic. … I think it bode well for us this year.”

For those of you who cannot understand Jerry-speak ..

Jerry: “It reminds me of the old gold miner out in the 49er days of the gold rush of San Francisco"
Translation: "Back when we used win Super Bowls"

Jerry: "And that old broken down gold miner, he’s got a bad back"
Translation: "I shouldn't be doing this at my age and after 30 years of failures, but ..."

Jerry: "And he’s sitting out there and he’s just picking on rock, and nothing’s happening."
Translation: "I'm drafting random players every year, but nothing is working."

Jerry: "Now, from the day we’ve become involved here, we said we’re going to swing the pick. That hasn’t changed. But we’re sure not going to quit."
Translation: "No one can fire us so you have no choice."

Jerry: "And I’ll assure you that I’ve been in many things in my life"
Translation: "I got to play GM for 30 years! .. for a real NFL team!"

Jerry: "And that’s a winning football team."
Translation: "And that's a football team making money and increasing in value every year."

That perfectly explains why they tried to bring McCarthy back before hiring Schottenheimer.

I didn't like those low energy, low enthusiastic 12 win seasons either, Jerry.

Oh, and you wanted McCarthy back, but he told ya kick rocks.

Jerra is going freaking nuts! His family don't care about him, that is evident.

This ain’t about swinging a pick! It’s about that old 49er losing his mind and keeps looking for gold in the same area exact spot day after day. Jerry is an old fool who refuses to hire the right men for the job.
