Where do you stand on the possibility of using our first pick on Jermod McCoy

I don’t mind it.

Folks get spooked by it, but by the time training camp hits he’ll be ~14 months removed from the injury and ~17 months by the time the time the season starts.

Revel was a fringe 1st round prospect. McCoy likely be a Top 10-15 if healthy.

Knowing that we will likely hibernate in FA or sign castoffs I am more risk adverse.

His 24' tape would make him a top 6/7 player so I would be ok swinging for the fences.

Will he run at all pro day or combine?

Its going to come down to combine medicals with him.

One take away from yesterdays press conference is Secondary and LB is what they are looking at in the 1st.

Man, I still wish we had gotten Maxwell Hairston. He's doing well in Buffalo.

As I tried to say last year, Hairston played better than Revel.

Depends on:

1. He is supposed to be healthy before the draft so does he check out in a private workout and has explosiveness

2. Have we filled DE, Safety, LB in FA with starting grade players

3. Did we take best DE with our first rd 1 pick

If yes, then yeah

He is probably top 5 in this class without the knee injury. Imo if you can get a top 5 player in a class at 12 you do it every time. If he plays a Money 5 position, even better

Tore his ACL 12 months, and hasnt played since

However probably a top 5 pick in this draft if he didnt tear his ACL. He is a better CB prospect than Sauce was coming out imo

Where do you stand on the possibility of him at #12
Nope. Against it. Stay away from the injured guys until the 4th or 5th. I’m also over the whole “if eh was so and so he’d be a top 5 pick” argument we make every year. If that’s the case let someone else take him. But no one ever does. It’s always us.

I've been a fan but the more I think about it the more I want to pass.

Corners is one of our top needs. If McCoy is there you have to consider him. I would draft other players like Bain, Faulk, Styles, ect over him though. I want to improve the front 7 first.

Yes, front seven first...build from the inside out.

He and Delane are at the top of all the CB rankings so if doesn’t surprise me that he’s getting mocked to us.

Personally, I’d rather not have someone’s without a bad injury but if he hadn’t been injured and had played at his previous level, he might be a top 5 talent in the draft

Hairston went 30th. We didn't pick again until around 44. Between a DE and CB with similar rating I'm taking the DE every time!
If he was still sitting there in the 3rd round I'm sure they would have loved to take him!
