Dak Prescott deserves more respect

Dak Prescott's first decade in the league deserves more respect....

I compared the two once with Dak looking better sometimes. I lived to tell my story......barely. Good luck OP.

Dak's not going away that fast. He's gonna make the championship game in a contract year and Jerry's gonna resign him again.

His MVP or stats bursters years.... and then after this his championship game years are always gonna come during a contract year. It's just what he does. He takes small steps up and Jerry signs him based on that.

I'm a Cowboys fan and he is my guy. I root for him like crazy. I defend him whenever necessary.

However,

When I try to envision the accomplishments of the highest paid player in NFL history, I expect to see the proportional results.

I would expect to see at least one Super Bowl ring, a couple of times playing in an NFC championship game, perhaps an MVP in the Super Bowl or the season.

Don't get me wrong, he is a great quarterback but he isn't the best quarterback, much less the best player currently in the league. Regardless, his impact on the Cowboys salary cap remains.

Therefore, I would say that Dak gets more than the right kind of respect. In fact, there is a balance to that respect owed by Dak. He can make good on that balance with a Super Bowl championship.

I'm not hating on him, I like him as a quarterback and a person, but it is time.

Dak is never going to win anything if they keep saddling him with these 30 something ranked defenses or even relatively good defenses that can't stop a good offense, particularly one that will commit to the run. I don't think Dak is a great quarterback. He plays great at times but he needs to show up and show out for multiple playoff games before I call him a great quarterback. But I have no problem ranking him as a very good quarterback and certainly one who is good enough to win with provided he isn't saddled with an albatross for a defense. Or a moron head coach/play caller. We can hope this all changes under Schottie.. but I for one will need to see it to believe it at this point.

Yes, but FGs are just a miniscule part of the whole game. The game is won or lost in the trenches, not by FGs.

It's hard for some of us to take the premise of this thread serious, when all we keep hearing is excuses and distortions of reality going into fantasy land. Take away those loaded offensive and defensive Patriots teams Tom Brady had, especially in the playoffs, then it would be fair. Guaranteed Dak would have even better numbers.

No, it wasn't. The rule was changed mid game. Before that, when a Qb tucked the ball in and lost it, it was a fumble. They changed the rule due to the bad call.

All I know is that I watch a ton of football, and that had always been a fumble.

There is a reason this play was so controversial then and is still controversial today. Nobody had ever seen that call made before. It went viral before viral was even a thing.

I think some people just need to be on the minority side. They find a technicality, apply some creative "thinking" to it and endlessly argue it as if only they can see the truth. I'm guessing it makes them feel special so they just run with it.

Prescott has had a top 10 scoring defense 70% of his career, so where are these 30th ranked defenses? 2020 (which he only played 4 games in, I believe), 2024 and 2025 are the porous defenses. What about the other seasons?

Very true. Brady almost always had the Wall of China and Belichick recognized that having a dude like Wilfork was essential to keeping the Dline strong.
