Belt: Has Schottenheimer given his buddy ST Coach Nick Sorensen a pass?

He should be checked. The HC needs to have a list of people to replace him. It should be ready.

Aubrey, Turpin, and the others took a step back in real time (we all saw). You can't afford to take a 3rd of a teams success for granted. You have to be prepared to correct things.

Those return yards given in the kick return field position game seemed to worsen more and more as the season progressed.

To the point where the team was practically conceding the 40 yard line almost in many of the last few games.

Agreed with you. Stated something similar as well in the game threads.

Opposing offenses were starting at near the 40 yard line on every possession. Meanwhile, our offense was starting inside our own 20. Thats massive when a team can get one first down and pretty much be in FG range.

There were times and games where they should have just kicked touch backs every time as the 35 yard line would have been better than midfield for each starting position for the other team's offense. Of course, they never made any adjustment.

Is it really about scheme or motivating players when it comes to ST?

If the coverage units are bad it’s probably more about backup players not being not great backup players. Not really on the coach, same as when Aubrey and Turpin are doing their thing….that’s not about the coach.

For me there seems to be a world of difference between who runs the offense and defense vs that of ST.

I like this better than the last guy who used to take too many unnecessary risks.
