Just saw this news myself. This one really sucks. Feels like a piece of my childhood is gone. She was in some great movies. Home Alone will always be one of my all-time favorite movies.

the list of original SCTV cast members is so impressive. I did not realize that until watching the documentary on John Candy. But he along with Catherine Ohara, Eugene Levy, Dave Thomas, Martin Short, and Rick Moranis were originals and have made all of us laugh a thousand times times. Rest in Peace Catherine. You were a special talent.

I agree i think they started late 70's on cable before they got their network gig. They were more edgy and clever than SNL IMHO.
Such a talented group.

She was huge in the late 80's/early 90's and came back with a vengeance the last decade. The cream always rises and for my money is is right there with Julia Louis Dreyfrus at the top of the best comedic actresses. My favorite stuff of her was always her Christopher Guest stuff

She was still getting roles which is pretty amazing IMO.
She just had that role in the Last of Us as the dope smoking therapist.
She did comedy well but she could play the serious roles as well.

In home alone they had to fast scenes that IMO mirrored each other.
McCauley putting the aftershave on and screaming in the camera. Catherine when she realizes and screams kevin into the camera.

She will be missed.

Talent. I dont think anyone was better at blending dramatic acting and comedic acting. Rose Byrne is great at both, but she doesn't blend it like Cat
