TrueIf i am hiring 2 guys and I find out one of them stabbed a coworker in the neck?
Football is the only place where that would be ignored and excused by everyone.

We just need consistency with him. Don't care about the wr label or rating. Just do your job that given week. Help the team win. Whether that's catching 10/150 or whether that's 2 catches for 30 but blocking your butt off . That's all we need from him. To me, THAT is what a top flight wr does. It will vary week to week. When I look at Pickens on the field I don't see a top-5-NFL receiver, but I do see a receiver who makes a lot of plays and catches the ball better than any other receiver on the Cowboys.
He may not be the #1 receiver for every team out there because a few teams have all-around great receivers, but when it comes to making big plays and catching the ball, he does that really well.
If I had to pick between them and I needed a Cowboys receiver for a whole game, I would choose Lamb (assuming he gets the drop problem fixed), but if I needed a receiver on a game winning drive, I would choose Pickens.
To be clear, that's not bashing either receiver for anything (other than Lamb for the drops of course), but simply saying both receivers complement each other and the team quite well.
The Detroit game especially. That was essentially a playoff game Guys that want to get paid as a #1 rise to the occasionYes , he was spectacular at times. But we also saw a couple games why Steelers let him go.
Which is what I took from what Emmitt was saying. I don’t think anyone , including Emmitt disputes his tremendous talent. But you have to rise up when it matters most and that Detroit game caused a little doubt. #1’s don’t quit on their routes and go get the ball in crunch time. Everyone knows he can do it …it’s the timing.First, what did having TWO number 1 WRs do to win games this year? It is beyond a luxury when we have a historically bad defense.
Second, as has been said, having #1 talent and being THAT guy you can count on game in and game out are two very different things. Pickens has #1 talent. He is NOT someone Id count on. Especially after getting a huge contract.
There is so much more to being a super star than just talent.
Emmitt’s point is not his on field talent it’s his off field character and it’s a legitimate point. In what world isn't Pickens a WR1?
And Michael was all that? Yeah he was tight with Aikman but really emmitt...Emmitt’s point is not his on field talent it’s his off field character and it’s a legitimate point.
AJ, TO, Diggs, all unquestioned ability but all were team disrupters and all got in their QB’s head. Granted he’s been on his best behavior but he’s got it in him - he’s proven that.
This sums up my view nicely.First, what did having TWO number 1 WRs do to win games this year? It is beyond a luxury when we have a historically bad defense.

That Detroit game. Big mouth Richard Sherman says he's taking plays off, he shows a 10 yard button hook and a slant into bracket coverage, bad throw by Dak, give me a break. There was a pro NFL QB on ESPN who broke down that all-22 and said Pickens opened up Lamb and Ferguson all night because he was double teamed and Sherman was dead wrong. The board never talked about that, it was never even posted..only the negative Richard Sherman banter that was sponsored by the Pittsburgh Steelers, who got fleeced in the trade.Which is what I took from what Emmitt was saying. Maybe. But what we do know is that he wants to be paid like one. Or even worse, the highest paid one.Dallas is not asking Pickens to be a 1.
Got to love Superbowl week when all of these past greats, like Jerry Rice and in this case Emmitt Smith, surface to remind you that being a great football player many years ago was indeed their peak.
lol no he doesn’t. pickens time in pitt alone nearly matches harper’s career numbers lol. harper was the inverse of pickensHarper thought he was a 1 until he went Tampa. Damn that’s real. Emmitt makes strongpoints.
if that’s the case it’s like larry fitzgerald and who else lolIn the one where consistency matters!
I don’t follow? Did Pickens not have his best output once he played alongside Lamb?lol no he doesn’t. pickens time in pitt alone nearly matches harper’s career numbers lol. harper was the inverse of pickens
Guns aren't the answer. We need more 22's in the NFL.
