The Fan on FA Sam Williams future as a Cowboy

No thank you. Him and Turpin should’ve been gone after that playoff victory after party.

this is simple, let him walk

anyone who wants to keep him, wants to stop us from fiding better talent or at least a younger player.

there is no "we know what we have" yes, a jag, accept it and let the team move on

I’d let him move on. He could possibly be someone they let walk for a comp pick.

As reserve and budget friendly deal. The 3 years for $9M sounds reasonable to avoid creating another hole to fill.

It’s not that big a hole to fill though, is it? Eze and Houston each had far more of an impact last year than Sam. There’s also a high chance we bring back Clowney. That leaves us really only needing 2 edges, and even if one of them is a cheaper guy, there are plenty out there who wouldn’t make the basic mistakes Sam does, or be as one-dimensional.

At this stage, Sam is not a depth piece, he’s a dud.

Nope. Get all the busts out of here.

I have never understood the philosophy of giving a “project” player who needs “time to develop” four full years to develop….then after they do not develop, say, “let’s re-sign this guy”.

To me this is exactly the kind of thinking that has given us the last 30 years.
Ok you put it much better. This is exactly how I feel. The irrational love for guys we drafted is killing this team.

 The sad thing is, they wanted Sam to take his game to the next level and would have gladly given him a 2nd contract. He couldn't do it .......plain and simple

Either a 1 year team friendly prove it deal with incentives or let him leave

This.
The recent Mazi Smith and Guyton examples speak for themselves.
